When someone asked Les during the show tonight if we'd see Jennings in during the 2nd half with a lead, Les responded by saying he hopes to see Jennings in the first half

Did you see my post inthe other thread?
I quoted it for you.
I'm pretty sure no LSU fan alive wants mett in the game up by 40.

So why do you keep bringing him up? This thread has absolutely nothing to do with Mett

I'm going to do my best to ask a serious football question without sounding like a complete moron/rantard. I know I'm ove-rthinking, so no need to point that out.
Could it be that Les wants playing time for AJ to not only develop him, but to show to SEC opponents he is willing to play him in multiple situations? And he wants to force them to prepare for two QBs with different styles with no real intention in playing him significantly in those big games?

Think its more that we need our backup to have experience.

That's no stupid question. And the answer is yes.

he wants the UAB game to be well-in-hand in the 1st half so that he can get his back up QB some work, which is important should the first guy go down at some point in the season. There are no sinister sub-plots, secret man-loves for dual-threat QBs, nude photos, or trolling of other SEC teams involved here...

Maybe, but IMO that's bush league football.
Sorta like that wildcat shite last season with spencer ware.
It's gimmicky crap IMO.
When you have the caliber players we do currently on offense , duh plus addition of jeremy hill,,,,, for fricks sake just be better than the defense.
Which we will be IMO.
If we were weak at qb or RB or wrs I could see it... Trying to do something different to gain competitive advtg... But if what you're going to isn't better than what you start with..... WTF is the purpose?
Experience for 2nd and 3rd stringers is what blowouts are made for.
That's just how I see it.

I know development is the main goal, and for multiple reasons. I was asking if this was something a head coach considers as another benefit.

You know what could really help solve some red zone problems?
Didn't we score like 3 for 5 in the RZ? If so 60% TD and 100% scoring is fairly good.

Odd? Bull shite! It's right on the money. If LSU has any remote aspirations of a national title in 2013 (nice going away present for BCS)it had better include Mr. Jennings attributes as QB (dual threat as they say).
The final trump card will be allowing him to THROW or run. Seems like every coach in America makes their dual threat run more than pass.
In closing if Mett could/would run when given the opportunity (and then fall down) he would be 1st team All-American. That's the only knock on the kid is that he can't run (IMHO). Like an old ball coach (basketball) once told me you can't teach quickness but you can teach anticipation - that makes you quicker. Appreciate that coach Mac. Geaux Tigers!

Anthony Jennings “should certainly have played a little bit more than one snap, we think.”
Which is why our offense stunk, and Cam is now onboard
I agree with this. Mett had the best opening week of any SEC QB and Les thinks AJ should have played more. I think he needs to stay out of CC play and personnel decisions.

Les meant that we should have blown out TCU, allowing jennings to get grabage pt.
If we detroy uab and kent state, jennings will get snaps, and preparation just in case mett goes down.
But after the sec schedule starts, I dont expect to see jennings unless its a blowout.
Mett's a senior. Someone will have to be ready next season.
