Ole Miss is the 11 seed. Buffalo is the 6. Ole miss would be a fairly tough out in the second round in that scenario honestly.

Obviously, that’s not a team we match up well with, but it wouldn’t be until the elite 8. I can live with that.

There is no way NCAA would set up a potential game with two teams from the same conference playing in the second round. Has that ever happened? I don't recall even seeing conference rivals play until the Elite 8.

if LSU won SEC tourney and was 29-5 do they have a shot at a 1 seed?

The 2006 Florida team had a similar record and was ranked a #3 seed

This could easily happen and has happened before

Only difference I would say is 2019 SEC is not the 2006 SEC. I don't know still if we would garner enough respect to be a 1 seed if we didn't lose the rest of the way. But it would be hard to not put LSU into that slot seeing as how they keep rotating Kentucky and Tennessee and we would have to beat one of them on the way to winning the tourney.

Would be a tough draw. The two teams I want to stay away from are Virginia and Texas Tech

Can anyone please provide an example? Not saying you are wrong. I just can’t recall the last time it happened in the NCAA tournament.

yeah, no way they lose in the first round again. As good as that team has been and as consistent their coach is, he will never be known for anything more than the first coach to lose to a #16 seed in NCAA history.

He'll have to win it all in order to be know for something bigger.

This is only allowed/going to happen if there are a certain # of teams from the same conference in the NCAA tourney, otherwise they can't meet till sweet 16. I could be wrong, but I think that number is 8.

We'd have a shot, but Duke and UVA would probably both have to not win the ACC championship and we'd need UNC to drop a couple games. Those teams are going to be given the benefit of the doubt for a 1.

I think the ceiling is LSU gets a 2 seed by winning out this week and making at least the conference semis at the SEC tournament.

Our floor at this point is probably a 4 seed and we are a 3 today. Wade has done a remarkable job this year. In terms of LSU coaching history, this is the fastest turnaround we've seen since Dinardo (let's hope this success can be sustained).
