Doesn't sound like they've experienced any hitting "slumps" this year.

Just curious, do you think LSU’s hitters would be experience slumps playing the competition that LSUS has? Do you think LSUS hitters would experience any slumps facing SEC weekend pitching?

They beat Texas College 37-0 in 7 innings. They only had 16 hits. But the most embarrassing part was that Texas College only got 2 hits. Here’s why, after 2 innings the score was 13-0 & after 3 innings it was 28-0. The LSUS pitchers had to be told throw strikes, don’t nibble, make them hit it & they still only managed 2 hits.

Ironically, NSULA HC was at LSUS back in the day.

Having played there and also at a D2, IMO NAIA competition is somewhere between D2 and D3. There are studs at that level but the depth isn’t there.

Not taking anything away from them. Winning that many games is impressive but the level of competition they are playing is pretty bad. NSULA would take 9 of 10, easily.

Why do some of you keep comparing apples to planets? LSUS isn't an sec team playing NAIA schools. They have to deal with the same talent pool as everyone else, because they, themselves, are an NAIA school. So when comparing them to other teams at their own level, they are doing something that is ridiculously impressive.

Why don't people say when a D1 team goes on a long winning streak that they "wouldn't be doing this if they were facing a Triple-A team"? Because that would be an irrelevant and absurd statement. The same is true for saying that LSU-S wouldn't be doing this in the SEC. We know that.

You mean sort of like comparing LSUS hitters to LSU’s when they aren’t facing SEC competition? It’s not the same thing. LSU is routinely facing guys who will be in the MLB. So it’s silly to criticize them for hitting slumps and use LSUS to compare, no?

Hell they’re all freshmen now if they came to LSU right? JUCO doesn’t count against eligibility right?

Why do people keep thinking this?

Also, LSUS isn’t a juco.

This isn't a comparison to LSU's hitters facing SEC competition. It's a thread complimenting LSU-S for dominating at their own level of competition.

Because of the Pavia ruling, and people saying it might become a blanket rule over all JUCO players. I have yet to hear anything else regarding whether that will actually be the case. I hope not. We're just getting away from all the covid 5th year guys; we don't need 6th year seniors hanging around. Other than medical redshirt guys.

I didn’t respond to the original post. My response was to a specific post taking a shot at LSU hitters for slumping while LSUS hitters haven’t. I guess you missed that.

Everything is still relative. Those hitters aren't D1 talents (mostly, one would assume) and so it should be expected that they would struggle from time to time. The fact that they apparently haven't is impressive. People are frustrated with LSU's hitters right now, because they have been up and down all season. That doesn't mean they are stupid and don't realize what level of baseball we're talking about.

No shite.

I’m wondering why people would still be dumb enough to believe this despite two baseball players in the sec with the same argument as Pavia being denied eligibility for this season.

Well nothing final has been decided, and people are hearing rumors that the Pavia decision will become a permanent thing. You asked a question, and I tried to answer it for you. My fault for trying.

theyre very old and almost all Juco transfers... their coach is very smart.. picking up a lot of upper level talent that was sitting the bench on D1 teams..

Point understood. However, his comment was a reply to a comment talking about hitting slumps of LSU which was just as absurd of a statement. Apples to orange comparison.
