And we didn't versus Oregon, Moo State, or WVU? GTFO with this stupid shite. Every year we are supposedly saving some secret playbook, so fricking stupid.

Why weren't you bringing up the dropped balls last year and the year before that?
Most prob becasue I dont live in the fricking past and the other and more relevant reason is bc JJ never had 2 games out of the first 5 where the WR's had a combinded 15 drops.

Um, you do realize that so far this year LSU has run the ball (218 times) nearly twice as much as we've passed the ball (119 times)?

If you love passing, LSU isn't the school for you.

Miles doesn't like to throw the ball. He's not going to throw any more than he has to.

:lolwut:

Yeah, receivers weren't dropping any of JJ's passes last year.

In the Auburn game last year, the receivers dropped at least 6 passes.

LINK

This isn't a new problem.

ETA:
Here's a thread about dropped passes from 9/26/2010:
LINK

Doesn't matter who the QB is. Receivers still dropping passes.

Granted, I saw at least a couple passes in the WVU game that were thrown at the feet of receivers or way too high or behind. But the dropped pass epidemic has been going on for a while. Lots of us were bitching about it last season. When you've got two very mediocre QBs like Lee and Jefferson, our receivers need to be catching those passes. No excuse.

out of 6 how many were JLEE throws?

drops are part of the game.. but over 4-5/game is getting to be a problem.
IDK what drops were vs state, nrtthwestern and wva.
JJ although did have issues with some drops last season... wasnt as prevelant as its been so far with Lee this year.

Muthafricka, is that all you care about?

I'm a fan of LSU, not Jarrett Lee or Jordan Jefferson.

Through the first 4 games last year, JJ attempted 79 passes (roughly 20 per game).

Through the first 4 games this year, Lee attempted 86 passes. Mett got 11 attempts against the Demons that Lee would have had if he stayed in. So let's say Lee was on pace for 97 attempts through 4 games or roughly 25 per game. He threw 27 times against State and 28 times against WVU.

Lee might have more dropped passes simply because he throws it more than JJ did. Miles is never going to call Lee's number to run the ball so that makes sense.

you said JJ had same problem
I said not as big a probelm as in 2 games this season.
You said JJ had 6 drops in au game.
JLee threw 14 times.
JJ threw 14 times.
I said how many of the drops were Lee passes?
No, it doesnt really mattter other than the fact that it seems to be a bigger deal this year than last.
Wheb I said 15 drops in 2 games those were all throws by Lee.
You said there were 6 vs Au,.. that's why I asked who threw the drops?

You know as well as I do that it's impossible to know that unless you go and watch the game film.

They don't keep (or at least publish) stats on dropped passes.

But for argument's sake, let's say you're right. The receivers drop more of Lee's passes than they did of JJ's passes last year.

So effin what? What does that say?

To me, it says our receivers drop passes. Just as they did last year.

What does it say to you?

It says its more of a problem this year than last, which is where this little debate you and I are engaged in stemmed from.

It says we need to get better catching the football if we are gonna run the table and beat these other SEC teams we have left on the schedule.

Because I'm interested in the truth, even if it's not on my side I'll share this:

quote:

Drops have not been as consistent of a problem as the quarterback play, although LSU receivers dropped 10 passes in the first four games. The Tigers had none in the next three games, but the performance in the Auburn game was alarming and costly.

So in 2010, LSU had 10 dropped balls in the 1st four games. None in the next 3 games. Then 5 drops in the Auburn game.

LINK

Too tired to bother looking up drops for the rest of the season (post Auburn).

To recap, through the first 8 games of last year, LSU receivers dropped 15 passes with 5 of those coming in one game (Auburn).

So I guess the receivers really do hate Jarrett Lee.

ETA: Jim Kleinpeter said we had 5 drops against Auburn, not 6 as The Reveille reported, so I'll go with the far more reputable Kleinpeter on that one.

So now you can say that our receivers dropped as many balls in the last 2 games as they did through the first 8 games last season.

Why do the receivers hate Lee?
