quote:Y'all please remember: it's not whether or not Woodward gets this changed, it's what he gets in return for Sankey being a bitch.
I’m sure Woody is crafting his own letter to the SEC this week.
If this, somehow, results in more night SEC games he will have done his job.
Not sure how he does that with TV contracts and all, but hopefully y'all get the jest that it's we get something of more value, to us and us alone, that matters.

This has less to do with Bama whining and everything to do with TV scheduling and the revenues that come. Follow the money, not the bitching.
So your argument is that LSU vs anyone would draw less than Vandy and Ole Miss and bring in less money? A team that sucks and a team that sucks and has no fan base. Ok. Maybe check the schedule before saying stupid shite next time.

quote:My argument is that nobody here knows what the financial incentive for LSU is, for taking that shitty time slot. And further, being televised is not an entitlement, esp in a low interest game like us versus Utah State. How big is their fan base? The deal might be “you want TV revenue, this is the slot...take it or leave it.” So yes, follow the money. Not everything is a Bama plot.

But maybe misey94 has access to privileged secret insider information none of the rest of us know? I doubt it.

I don’t buy into the conspiracy nonsense. It was a simple decision made to appease one school at the expense of another. But just because it isn’t a conspiracy doesn’t mean it isn’t bullshite.
And you are dead wrong about TV not being an “entitlement.” Under the current SEC deal, EVERY game is televised and/or streamed. Period. That is the very definition of it being an entitlement.

Mmm I guess it's hotter in Alabama than Louisiana so they need the night games.

We were sure dropping like flies in Nashville. You play a game at 11 am or 6 pm with pads on and you tell me there is no difference...
Bama wants us soften up for our trip to Tuscalooser. They see our offense. They are concerned. Why this years time start is an issue? This wreaks....

It was miserable on several dimensions, not the least being the LSU defense. LSU was leaving App State receivers WIDE OPEN, once for a touchdown without a defender within 20 yards. That was when I knew this whole codefensive coordinators thing (Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto) couldn't work.

I checked back to 1984 and LSU didn't have any non-conference games in Tiger Stadium at 11 am. I highly doubt there were any at 11 am before 1984.

SEC games we wear white if we want to.
Dinardo got the rule changed so it was possible (ETA: And Vandy has obviously never gotten over that). Saban got it so that the home team decided. We also got the "H" style goalposts and 5-yard markings that no one else has.
Having said that, this is obviously a catering to Bama. Hopefully, we just beat them in the big game this year and have the last laugh. Everything else is window dressing until then.

This is just stupid. Did you even look at the other games that weekend?
Posted on 9/24/19 at 8:34 am to tigerpawl
Looking at the SEC schedules then 3 of the next 4 will be daylight games. Maybe only Miss St at night. I think the Florida games gets picked up by CBS. Auburn to may get CBS.

quote:WRONG. The SEC rule is that the home team gets to decide whatever jersey color they want. LSU doesn't need SEC teams' permission to wear white at home (this changed in the late 90s). Vandy chose to wear light unis at their home and LSU had no say in the matter.
Vandy asked to wear their light colored Jersey and we let them, just as most that come to Tiger Stadium allow us to wear white. It has to be agreed on... LSU is going to wear white the next time Vandy comes.
The NCAA rule requires home team to get permission to wear white so we must get approval to wear white at home when we play non-conference opponents.

Maybe Woodward should pen a letter saying how it was such a great experience for the team/players to travel to Nashville this past weekend and it's too bad LSU won't get to do it again for nearly 20 fricking years because the league has to preserve the yearly Bama/Tenn. game at all costs!
As much as I can't stand Dan Mullen, he even made a great point in his press conference yesterday. I paraphrase but he basically said that over the next six years UF plays FSU 6 times, Miami 3 times and MS State once. He said there is definitely something wrong when you play a SEC opponent that few times while regularly playing OOC opponents that often.
Thanks 'Bama.
