It's a tremendous track record.

7 of 9 finals appearances when we win game 1.

Let's keep it going.

He's listing the game 1 opponent that we beat.

We could not have beaten Florida and then ended up playing them in the finals. They would have been on the other side of the bracket.

Should’ve been a three-peat if not for the change in weather.

Would've made it 3rd of 4 straight, right?

ETA: 2000 instead of 99. I don't know why I always mix those years up.

The super regionals didn’t start until 1999.

I think we hit eight homers in game one. Tore through the bracket until the last day. A cold front blew in and the wind turned to the north. All those would-be home runs turned into long fly outs. Lost two in a row to USC. That 1998 team was great and should have won it all. Probably my biggest disappointment in all the years I’ve been following LSU baseball, and I’m old (1977 grad).

Yep I see it now. We went from the 1998 CWS to the 2000 CWS.

You don’t? They upset South Carolina in the Supers. SC had an incredible team, 56-10/25-5 SEC.

And most of the ULL guys had their hair bleached like a 90s boy band.

That ULL team made it to the semifinal round

Granted that they would've needed to beat Stanford twice to make the National Championship Game... but we were so close to an All-Louisiana Final that year

very much correct… we were on major roll, and then that front came through, in the middle of the freakin' game, and, it was like, everything just, changed…
