What a freak occurrence that was. Should’ve been a three-peat if not for the change in weather.

One of the best LSU baseball teams. That USC game was a heartbreaker. I think Barbier missed a pop fly that changed the game. I was young so I could be remembering that wrong.

Beat Beau Hale, Mark Prior, and Blair Varnes. 3 all Americans. Hale and Prior first round picks.

The other side of the bracket was Stanford, ULL, San Jose St and Clemson. Very unbalanced just going by names

Meanwhile we had zero starting pitching depth.

Good memory, I don’t remember ULL being a part of that CWS.

In the late 90’s ESPN used to play the old CWS highlights during the day. That’s how I learned about college baseball history. It’s was usually around 2 in the afternoon. Looked forward to it everyday.

You don’t? They upset South Carolina in the Supers. SC had an incredible team, 56-10/25-5 SEC.

And most of the ULL guys had their hair bleached like a 90s boy band.

I remember that and the Clemson squeeze play but I thought it was in O1 with Tulane being in the CWS. I looked it up before I posted so I know you are correct but I remembered it differently.
