OSU plays noon games they finish ahead of us Clemson plays noon games they have finished ahead of us FLorida State Michigan and on and on
Night games in TS is a large part of our recruiting plan and is ingrained in the tradition of the school compared to those schools.

You really think LSU needs A PRIMETIME slot to get recruits????
When we lose to troy, I'll take all we can get.
It's not going to kill recruiting, but when presented with the two options, why would you not want the one that is more beneficial to the team and the fans?

This isn't the Curley Hallman days dude............

That's the FANS fault...FACT....

the product on the field will suck
How so????? You have some kind of insight the rest of us do not????

and I will be disapointed in the fact that it's an 11am kick.
OK... Do you really think the team cares what YOU FEEL????
AGAIN THEY HAVE to go out and play the game... Its NOT up to them.. I bet they will be ready though... Unlike the fans as far as I have seen in this thread..........

OK.. What about what the team NEEDS???
SUPPORT............... But go ahead and stay away and be A PUSS fan just because you can't have "THE EXPERIENCE ] YOU WANT...
You are pathetic...
BTW.. STAY HOME THEN.......... If I am A player I don't want you anywhere near the stadium showing me your support............

What are you even arguing dude? That we should all be jumping for joy at a fricking 11am kickoff? Literally everyone hates those

I still don't see why you wouldn't be upset with not getting the night games when it's mych more beneficial for everyone involved
I'm not too proud to admit that like everyone in this thread I think about myself first as well. That's why I'm not mad about it. Also, I'm not sure how it is more beneficial to play Arkansas in a crappy SEC game at night anyway. If we lose to Bama no one will show up regardless. There will be as many empty seats as we had for Auburn....which if you recall was at night

quote:
Do you really think the atmosphere is the same in both scenarios?
It's similar I think...if LSU is winning and playing good football. Now if they are bad that is probably less true.
quote:
If you only have one weekend to show a top recruit what tiger stadium has to offer
If it's only one weekend I probably wouldn't pick Arkansas regardless. LSU has some control of when a recruit comes on a visit.
quote:
11am dead crowd with zero tailgating atmosphere?
The fanbase alone can remedy this.

So we have to play at night to get a top player but other schools can play anytime and get one.....seems like a pretty big disadvantage to me personally....especially considering LSU has very little (if any) control over what time they play games.

WHAT???
LSU was NEVER 6-2 under Curley... BUT say what you want but ONE 11 start is NOT gonna make recruiting take A BIG hit like you say..
AGAIN... Why don't you just tell the truth that YOU are pissed because YOU don't have enough time to party for the game to GET READY.........
Are YOU going to the game????????/

Better atmosphere before and during the game. More TV exposure. How it is not better?

People always show up for decent home games.

I recall that game being at 2:30 hoss.

we beat Alabama people will show up and be loud...I feel pretty confident about that.
Crowd will be dead at 11am either way.

Then you have no idea what you're talking about. Night games will always have a superior atmosphere to a morning kick off.

Not really true when you're talking about the top recruits in the country

You are simply being obtuse if you don't think we build a large culture around night games in our stadium.
You're creating strawman arguments to distract from my actual point of how beneficial the night games are to our program and why fans can both root for them for selfish reasons while also knowing that the team is benefitting from these games as well.

Ok you got me.....Alabama is going to kill us this week and then the SEC/ESPN is going to finish us off by killing our recruiting by forcing us to play at 11AM against a complete crap SEC team.
May as well pack it in for 2018 and 2019 at this rate.
How will LSU ever make it back to national prominence?
ETA
You did get me on the Auburn start time not sure where I was on that....still the point still remains.

When I ever said that isn't part of the reason people want later kickoffs?
I'm telling you that there are mutually benefits for the fans and the teams for late kickoffs.

have been huge mid day games like the WLOCP, UGA/Auburn, USC/Clemson, etc that have had big recruiting implications for those schools.
11am kickoff isnt a mid day game. I dont have a problem with 2:30 games at all, not so much love for 11am game.

Does anyone know the hierarchy on the game time selection?
Did we get passed on the start times of the A&M/NMSt and the Tennessee/Mizzou games?

It literally does....that time slot is reserved for the best SEC game of the week (unless LSU and Bama are playing) and historically we have had great fan attendance and great atmospheres for 2:30 games in Tiger Stadium.....that one not so much.
Posted on 10/30/17 at 3:09 pm to lsuhunt555
I'm thinking I remember those games being played at noon sometimes.....I'm certain I remember watching UGA/Auburn and the WLOCP on JP in the past.
