Wrong. We weren't going ahead of undefeated Oregon, Ks state, or notre dame. Florida losing is no different.
I do not know where all these high opinions of O, KSU, and ND come from. A win over a #1 team for LSU is way above any quality win for any of those teams. What helps LSU is for USC and OU to continue to lose and lower their strength of schedule.
I do agree that we needed UF to win yesterday to avenge that loss on SOS comparisons.

1 loss lsu will not go above undefeated bcs team. Not arguing merits, it just won't happen.

Sorry if already posted, but we will go ahead of an undefeated K-State. Two things will hurt them down the stretch : SOS and lack of a Championship game.
I think ND is a lock to win out. So is Oregon. Really need one of them to stumble...it's just not gonna happen. But if they do...
However, with 9 top ten matchups being played in CFB this year, and if, LSU winning out, plays in 4 of them, our SOS goes through the roof. With two teams in front of us, one being K-State, it will be 2003 all over again ( Remember that USC)
But first...Bama

Georgia is one less and will move up. We will have to face them in the SEC championship anyway. So it doesn't really hurt either way.

Calm down:
1. Win out
2. 2 of 3 lose: KState, Oregon, notre dame
3. See you in Miami
Easy peasy.

Beating an undefeated #1 ranked Florida in Atlanta would be a way bigger boost for us than a #5ish 1 loss UGA. Im not saying we were definitely in with a win over #1 UF in the SEC championship, but it was by far our best shot to leap frog the undefeateds and sneak into the BCSNCG. Thats why it was the biggest loss for us yesterday in my mind.

LSU's biggest loss was ND winning. A one loss SEC team will not jump an undefeated BCS school.

LOL @ the people that think a 1 loss SEC Champ wouldn't make the title game

There is a LOT of football to be played. Also, both KSU and Notre Dame DO NOT play in a Conference Championship Game. And, in case you have already forgotten, WE PLAY THE #1 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY THIS WEEKEND.

It certainly didnt help. The electoral map now only has a few scenarios that favor us. And then there is Notre Dame and Big 12 voter fraud.

I think having beaten 2 number 1 teams, including the unbeatable crimson tahd, and having their only loss to a top 5 team LSU would have jumped an undefeated team into the title game.
That's all out the window now.
Thanks, idiot gators.

You realize if Georgia goes to the sec championship it doesn't matter one little bit right?
Posted on 10/28/12 at 9:51 pm to Tiger Stadium 11
Nah, UF and UGA keep winning and we r good.
Posted on 10/28/12 at 10:01 pm to SBC
You're wrong, the OP is right, Florida losing to UGA was big. If we were to win out and face BCS #1 Florida in SEC champ. game, we would CERTAINLY be in the title game. Still can make it work, may need some help, now, though.

Beating 2 #1 ranked teams, being the only team in the country to beat a #1 ranked team, and avenging our only loss of the season would definitely be viable argument. Would it definitely get us to the dance? No. Would it give us a fighting chance? Absolutely.
However that was all lost with Florida losing which is why it was the biggest blow of the weekend to our chances.
