What happens if an LSU coach using obscenities is caught on tape?
If it demeans or defames the university he should be asked to apologize (and virtually every coach would). If the coach ran to the middle of the field during a timeout, pointed to the opposing coach and screamed "suck that tiger d*&k Bi*&c*" he should be fired.

You mean like the other three songs banned because of the chant?

I've seen many coaches curse on camera during games. Never seen one apologize for it.

They then add STTDB to it.

Nah. They need to come out with new music on the reg. Chants happen when a song is played every game for years. Throw some variety in there and keep it constantly changing and a chant will never get started. The all of the lights chant took a while to get going but it was one of the few songs introduced in the last 3-4 years IIRC

You have said the same idiotic thing in literally EVERY thread on this topic in the last year or so. If you would give some thought to your posts, maybe you would see the light.

In general, when people are given privileges and then abuse those privileges, they should be prepared for consequences. The students' comeuppance is long overdue. At this point, they only have themselves to blame.

Apologies, I thought I was debating someone with an IQ above 70.

That's because by all reasonable measure that does not demean or defame the university. The coach is usually directing his frustration or anger at one person (i.e. player or official) and it just happens to be caught by a camera; however, if the on camera cursing were egregious enough it would be reasonable for the coach to apologize and say he regrets that his actions may have negatively impacted the university.
Having said that, I don't think there is any reasonable person that would equate these two scenarios.

It took nearly 2 years for the STTDB to be applied to All of the lights. I know they were trying earlier than that but it didn't catch on until a few years after the song was introduced. I don't understand your confusion. I can't think of any other songs introduced in the last 3-4 years other than Lady gaga, gangnam style(only a few games last year), and All of the lights. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We obviously. When the coach does it, it is usually obvious exactly what he is saying on tv. When the students chant, if you don't know what they are chanting, you will not be able to make it out on tv. So I agree, the coach being caught cursing on tv is much much worse.

Even with this, it's just a curse word. Who cares?

Add to that neutral site games taking quality opponents out of Tiger Stadium. Charging for parking ruining the tailgating experience.

The extent some of y'all will reach to justify doing it in these threads is almost more embarrassing than the students doing it. Then again, I don't believe that you really think it's ok to chant that as much as I think some of you just want to argue and troll the shite out of the thread.

You either don't understand the argument being made by the other side, or you are pretending not to understand the argument. I'm not sure which one. Let me try to simplify my argument by summing it up in quote I heard used by John Wooden:
"You should respect the rights of others before your own feelings and you should respect the feelings of others before your own rights".
The student section is so invested in claiming that it is their "right" to say whatever they want, that they don't pause long enough to intellectualize if it's actually the right thing to do.

Actually it is a chant about a sex act with an animal, and a damn stupid chant at that!!!

Most of us don't think it's ok. Most of us also realize nothing they do to try and preserve the song is going to work. The song is not a "tradition" like they keep trying to preach to us. Time to move on. They killed Tigerrag and most of our current students have no idea what that is. Time and new material heals all.
