They should just reward the kids that don't chant dumb shite. Lead by example?

wait wait wait
I can't yell a curse word in the student section without facing possible expulsion but I can go sit with my parents and yell them all I want?!?!

Profanity is one thing. Sexually explicit chants are another. Too bad you're so unentertained by the game and life in general that you have to resort to not only those chants, but also putting down anyone who would like to not have to explain "suck dick" to a 7 year old just yet. I've had more fun in that stadium than you ever will, and I've made more noise and pumped the crowd more than you ever will. Learn how to be a football fan or GTFO of the stadium.
There's something called respect for other human beings. You're probably unaware that it exists, as you don't get much of it. You have to earn respect by showing it to others. You can have a shitload of fun without making others uncomfortable or put off
Very well said

I sit on the east side of the north end zone and can clearly hear what is being chanted.
I've also sat on the west side and have been able to clearly hear the same STTDB chant.
Shut up.

Before we know it, the student section is going to look like this:
For exactly one game. Then they'll be banned along with any student caught with one. You see where this is headed right?

Its funny once or twice.
After that, its just classless.
Not even worth arguing with anyone who thinks otherwise.

Makes no difference to me, I watch on TV. With that being said, I have heard it was pressure from CBS that started all of this. Just what I heard not sure if true. If that is the case, then i'm sure there are some smart students at LSU that could start reviewing CBS's programing and call them out on it if the evidence is there.
Correct me if i am mistaken about the whole CBS thing.
Just my .02

You ask me to show you respect
quote:Liar. I wish for all in the stadium to act as they please as long as their good time does not come at the expense of mine or anyone else's. That is respect. No student section chant prevents you from enjoying the game, no matter how much you want to pretend that it does.
you hold no respect for your fellow fans or institution you represent in that stadium.
quote:Words, actually. And none of them are offensive. It is entirely your choice to feel offended--that's on you.
The only tantrum thrown is by you and those who find it offensive that anybody can possibly be offended by your actions.
quote:Language police always likes to get personal when their blatant disrespect for their fellow man is made obvious. It is a sign of weakness.
I can already tell how successful you will be.
quote:Thank God. That would be so hard.
so I don't have to explain that to my kids
quote:Take your own advice. You're the one telling people what to do, I'm telling you and those disgusting, vile pigs trying to police language that the earth does not revolve around their narcissistic asses and it is not the job of 10,000 people to eliminate any words from their vocabulary to suit the whims of others.
Someday you may come to realize that the entirety of the universe is not confined to what you see in your mind.
Someone else's word choice is none of your business. Respect others and leave them the frick alone.

In general, when people are given privileges and then abuse those privileges, they should be prepared for consequences. The students' comeuppance is long overdue. At this point, they only have themselves to blame.

If they actually go through with this, the student section should conduct a quarter-long silent protest to show how shitty the atmosphere would be without them.

Some of you guys need to grow up.
I didn't just pull this idea out my arse

And I'm sure resorting to namecalling instead of constructive argument isn't childish at all.

They slo-mo players' and coaches' reactions of bad plays all the time on TV. We already have video of some offensive language users. And Les cusses in a presses on national TV then it gets plastered all over ESPN. He is a much larger face of LSU.
I don't care for STTDB, but I don't care for what LSU is doing either

I love all the kids with no perspective that complain that they should be left alone. I cant wait for them to not be allowed into football games.

What you people fail to understand is that it isn't a freedom of speech issue anymore. They aren't WANTING to be language police but letting STTDB slide looks very bad on the university. They have tried everything they can at this point and it appears they are at their last straw with it. Any actions that get taken by the AD and school from here on out will be the students fault as they have forced the hand after all other resorts have failed.
All it takes is for the students to have some tact. They can be loud and rowdy without chanting obscenities no matter how much it is their right to do so.
Your comparison about Miles is a horrible one too because saying damn or something at a podium once in a blue moon isn't the same as a whole crowd yelling STDDB 15 times a game.
Also players in slo mo? Are you serious? Reading someones lips of something they say to themselves or those around them is no where the same thing as a concentrated effort by a whole crowd of people to yell STTDB as loud as they can.
