This feels like what Woodward did at A&M with Jimbo. Jimbo was worse than BK, but Woodward was the point man for both mistakes.

Woodward is really good friends with Jimbo and Nick Saban. I would wager he still would not admit that the Jimbo hire was a bad one. He gave him a raise for goodness sakes lmfao.

They needed to make a big splash hire, and they did whatever it took to get one

Which is dumb as frick. Was Kirby Smart a splash hire, Nick Saban at Michigan st? Dabo Sweeney?.Jay fricking Johnson? Urban Meyer from fricking bowling green.
How’d the other splash hire work out at SC.
frick that splash hire shite hire the right damn coach. Also. I don’t care if Nick Saban was coming back he should in no way get a 10 year contract

Can we just offer $25m for BK to ride off into the sunset?

If lsu finishes worse than 8 - 4, that is what they will try to do.

I've been told (during the spring) that the number that they need is under 30 million to buy him out.

I don't think the AD on down to each member of the BoS would have approved the buyout if the funds to pay it weren't there or easily assessable. Maybe I'm naive, but that's just my take.

You are indeed naive. Your take assumes LSU is adequately managed. It isn't, and except for a few years when Mark Emmert was the Chancellor it hasn't been since Huey Long. It also completely disregards the massive egos of everyone involved in the last coaching search.

is also a very bad look to other Coaches to fire a Coach after 3.5 years when hes had almost 10 wins every season.

I don’t believe this.

Hes safe. And everyone needs to come to that realization that he will not be fired after this season or next season unless he has back to back .500 season.

I DO believe this. He ain’t going nowhere this season for sure. Not unless he wants to.

Also, we may split A&M and Alabama. 9-3 or 8-4 record is very much in the cards for this season.

It’s hard to win on the road in Tiger Stadium. And A&M tends to collapse in Oct/Nov.

There’s still alot of football to be played, and some levers CBK can still pull. We need to wait to see how this all turns out.

I don’t think they were planning on an early divorce on the wedding day. At least not from LSU’s standpoint.

If someone owes you 50 million would you take 25 million?

Kelly would be stupid not to run out of Baton Rouge with 35 million and what's left of his reputation intact, retire or take a mid major somewhere.

Maybe we can’t afford a $50M buyout. But call Penn State and offer to pay $25M of the contract if they take Kelly off our hands.
