LSU will not leave the SEC, but hypothetically LSU can’t match Notre Dame

To thrive as an independent. Forget wins and losses. ND’s brand/program value is estimated at $2.1 billion compared to $1.3B for LSU. ND has been a national brand for decades and that will never go away. We’ve all seen the athletic budget. LSU’s loss of revenue sharing would kill baseball and the other athletic programs. We need to be in a conference.

Worst case is we go to ACC or Big 12.

LSU can't match Notre Dame. They have the whole catholic thing going for them.

ND has a 20 billion dollar endowment. LSU 1 billion. However, ND really is a great academic school. They could have a 50 million dollar football team. But they don’t play that shite. Good for them.

Us- we play that shite. frick ND. We are not on their level financially. Thank God they don’t care about sports.

The ideal scenario would be taking top selections from both and forming a new conference. Buts that’s likely impossible with existing rights deals/buyouts.

Notre Dame is a member of the ACC for all sports other than football. They also have an agreement with the ACC to play some football games against ACC teams. This year they are playing UNC, Stanford, Miami, BC, Syracuse & SMU.
Going independent is not an option.

I’d rather fire Lane and Will Wade than leave the SEC

Netflix deal = 100 mil in annual streaming revenue. More than we bring home from the SEC now. 280+ mil streaming audience.

That’s the most likely case.

I think if we were in the ACC and scheduled a couple of solid non conference games each year, it would be not terrible.
