But I'm an idiot for thinking we'd have to give up a home game down the road if they played here this year.

Please recall that LSU floated NUMEROUS scenarios to get the game played IN Florida, as well in adjacent venues. Florida sat on its hands, as did the SEC, and in effect, rejected LSU's proposals. Talk about concessions! Go back and read what LSU offered to do!
Exactly! And now Foley is mouthing off about how unreasonable LSU was in getting the game rescheduled. The SEC is even praising Florida for its flexibility. LSU got screwed in this deal. Alleva didn't do LSU any favors in this "settlement" if indeed he had any say so.

I don't see why we should be screwed out of a home gate at all. The SEC needs to pay us next year for losing a home game.

Rest of the SEC schedule on 11/19 sucks, so a CBS (2:30) start is all but certain.
Florida insisted that if the game be moved to LSU, it could not start later than 2:30 pm. So not only does LSU lose the home game next year, the opponent gets to dictate that the game not be played at night in Tiger Stadium. LSU screwed!

UF only agreed when they found out they're not eligible for the division title if they didn't play the game.

I have a question and I apologize if it has already been asked. Traditionally, our toughest opponents are Florida and Alabama. In the past, we get one of them on the road and one of them at home. Will this now be permanent, where we will have both of them at home one year, and both of them on the road the next year?

ETA: Ahh, I see that Florida gets home games the next two years.

Well, Alleva bent over and said give it to me dry. This is about the worst outcome that could have happened. The league was hell bent on playing on November 19th and they got their way. I will never complain about the SEC screwing over LSU again, the AD just willingly let them do it. LSU gave in on every point, even allowing the opponent to dictate what time the game will be played. If LSU isn't even going to stand up and fight for itself, then I don't blame the league for keeping on screwing them.

One thing for sure - if Coach O is here to bring to team to Gainsville next year, it means he had a pretty dang good year this year. I'm sure he'll take this deal.
