I first remember seeing the white-purple-white combo back in 2007 in the Superdome, as a special post-Katrina commemorative uniform. I remember a lot of complaints about it at the time

I’ve been with this program for 45 years. I’ve watched LSU build traditions that have lasted decades. These kids come here from Baltimore, Toronto, Georgia, etc. and are only going to stop by here for 4 years and then move back home, want to destroy what has been built before them. “We want to wear black jersey! My instagram pics will look so great!”
Brian Kelly doesn’t let them pick what time curfew is, so why is he letting them rip up our uniform traditions?

Dinardo chose to BRING BACK THE MAGIC-- the magic transferred through traditional uniforms! With only four exceptions during his five year reign, it was traditional gold/white/gold-- and nobody complained, except for that one sartorial faux pas of the purple pants!
