Don't worry there's 7 home games for each fan base, but there's only 1 opportunity to play in Houston and Green Bay

I am going try to be calm about this neutral site nonsense, and explain why it is ridiculous.
1) "It helps with recruiting in (state where [or near] where neutral site is located)"
I have yet to hear a single signee say that because LSU played (fill in the blank) at Jerryworld or Reliant (or any other neutral site), that THAT was what got them to choose LSU. On the other hand, I have heard multiple lids say that watching them play in Tiger Stadium "sealed the deal."
2) It gives LSU "national exposure."
This sounds like the sort of crap that comes out of South Bend, which makes sense, because Indiana isn't a great recruiting base and ND needs to show a presence in "neutral site" states to convince kids (and their parent[s]) to come to that shithole in the middle of nowhere.
LSU has been a mainstay on TV (both CBS and ESPN) for quite a while. They draw an audience, especially when they are playing in TS). They already have a shitton of national exposure based on the success they've had over the last 10 years. Hell, LSU gets exposure because of the "character" we have as a head coach.
PLUS, you don't think that either CBS or ESPN would not be killing themselves to televise LSU vs. TCU/Wisky live from TS, with LSU playing those teams at their stadia in a "home and home"? Child, please.
3) "It's a "nod" to LSU's fan base/alumni in/near the neutral host site"
This is actually one of the more compelling arguments for neutral site games. I know if I lived in/near Houston, Dallas, etc., I'd be excited to have the chance to see the Tigers in person and there's a lot of alumni out there. However, the problem is that doing this completely fricks over the season ticket holders (and yes, I know they get "priority" in buying neutral site tix through LSU).
As has been glaringly obvious for some time now, LSU's OOC schedule has been awful. Typically, LSU's OOC has been one "decent" team, and three doormat/creampuff/rent-a-win teams. The neutral site gambit now takes the one decent OOC game away from TS, leaving the dreck (this season - UAB, Furman, Kent State/next season - ULM, Georgia Southern, New Mexico State). The games NOT being played at TS? TCU (2013) and Wisky (2014).
PLUS, the absence of these home games (especially since they are the highest profile) serves to screw over local businesses and local government (I suspect Kip and Co. would love to have the tax revenue generated by the fans coming to these games [from BOTH schools]).
+++++++
In sum, as I (and others) have stated before, neutral site games are complete fricking bullshite and a big "frick you" to season ticket holders, local fans and local businesses.
Thanks Joe!

LSU should just revamp a permanent home/away series with Rice, with the away games at Reliant. Creampuff game every year and a trip to Texas on the A&M-in-BR year.

Yes seeing a game in the stadium on their official visit often is often what “sealed the deal” but their initial interest may very well come from catching a game in Houston or Dallas

But, EVERY year we lose a potentially great OOC home game....that's just WAY overboard !

WHY??? City of Baton Rouge's hotels, restaurants, motels, etc. would have made tons of bucks. Wisconsin travels well. Why let Texass make the money.
Oh I know your reasons is RECRUITING. crappola.

Much of what you write here is rational. However, there is one glaring omission. You forgot to address the real motivation for these games: money. That's why the AD's enter into these nuetral site arrangements that do, in fact, betray the interests of season ticket holders. It's all about profit. Given the neutral site payouts and the way that AD's can manipulate scheduling, these games maximize revenue. The other reasons you recite are mere pretext. It's money. Whether or not maximizing profit at the expense of tradition is a good or a necessary thing can be debated.

No doubt it's $$$. But then the AD should just sack up and say it, and explain how the extra $$$ is worth the middle finger to the season ticket holders and local businesses (and why despite such a shitty OOC schedule, that those same season ticket holders should be willing to spread their cheeks for another ticket price increase).

Exactly.....build a huge stadium addition, primarily to sell club/suite tickets....THEN, sell the best OOC game in years, to the Houston market...makes sense....NOT !
Wonder how all the new SEZ club/suite holders feel about this horse-shite ?
LSU is going to get more money from this deal, so it makes perfect sense to anyone not scalping tickets

-It is spelled Lambeau, no need for those useless xxx's
-Our stadiums are named Lambeau Field & Camp Randall. You play in Tiger Stadium. How inventive, just like Detroit.
-Do you all realize there is a Confederate Cemetery outside Camp Randall, as it was in part a POW camp during the Civil War.
-Seating capacity at Lambeau is the 3rd largest in the NFL. Larger than any Houston stadium. Bring money, enjoy the brats.
- "Wisky" first time I heard this....honest. I like it.
-If you know football, you will cherish playing at Lambeau. I sense that LSU knows football.
-There is a reason it is called the frozen tundra, bring all the clothes you own & put them on.
