Kind of a silly excuse because flights and hotels can typically easily be changed and canceled with that much notice before the weekend.

I don’t think it’s a silly excuse but you do you. I’m not finding them overly expensive from either BTR or MSY.

I booked as soon as Southwest opened the dates up. They had all direct flights from Tuesday thru Friday before the game and Tuesday thru Friday after the game for $318. I think all of Southwest direct flights are booked solid or are about $1300.

There is a site called LetsBook Trip.com that has Southwest flights like Sat-Mon at normal times nonstop for around $350RT (MSY) that seems to good.
Does anyone know or think this is legit or used it before? The reviews are mixed bag and gets 50% rating whatever that means.

Out of New Orleans Thursday coming back Tuesday was right at 1300 in January. There wasn’t much to choose from then either.

Edit: This was for two tickets

There has been as sweetspot or two in the last few months but the hope is that they'll add a few more flights from BR/NOLA on Thu/Fri.

Monday will have a lot of traffic for a holiday weekend. You're either paying to leave that day or paying to stay longer

Most of the “cheapest options” being shown are frontier, spirit, or has flights with overnight stops.

Yeah I could tell you cheapest flight for Thurs-Mon is $333

Or Fri-Mon is $247

But I’m not leaving Vegas at midnight on Monday & getting back at 2:30PM on Tuesday.
& I’m not spending the night in Denver on the way.
It is tough to get reasonable flights right now.

The ticket resale market for this game is going to be a buyers dream. As the real cost of this trip sets in for many, plenty plenty people will be backing out and joining you.
