I disagree, can you imagine Borne tonight (assuming he's actually there and not being subbed for... again).

"AT CENTER, A 7-FOOT-3-INCH SENIOR FROM AUSTIN TEXAS.... ANDREW DELLLLLLL PIEROOOOOOOOOOOO"

Place would go nuts before tipoff

Yea before tipoff, but idk. I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I don't think ADP becomes our everyday starter at 5.

If he improves enough, I think he could. As it is I think he will prove to be a great asset off the bench.

I don't either, I think CJJ is trying to limit match up issues (even with their starting 4 out, Seton Hall is a pretty big team).

To be honest, I am starting to look at their team and their size advantage is at the 2 and 3 position. They will be playing 6'6" 2, 3, and 4s. They do have a 6'11" guy who has been used similarly to ADP, but he is only 1 of 6 from the floor with 0 ft attempts.

If you told me 1 month ago that we would be having a discussion if ADP should start or not, I would have laughed in your face.

God I love basketball.

"Tuba gets into trouble foul trouble with quick bigmen"

What ADP needs to learn is how to spin on one foot, actually this is one of the most valuble piece of footwork a big can have. It's ALSO, neccessary for a drop step.
But in ADP situation on D and blocking shots it would do wonders.
For example ,when the QUICK offensive player he's guarding is starting to dribble/ drive pass him and actually has a half a step or a slight edge- don't continue to try to shuffle your feet to catch up to him and attempt to reach over him to block his shot, instead- spin on your lagging leg( spin away from player but towards the rim) and when the spin is complete nothing has changed in regard to what foot was leading or lagging- except now you take A ONE FOOT ,STRECHING LEANING LEAP toward the backboard(this is how the lost ground is made up), . It's just 1. spin and 2. long jump off ONE foot and lean. And I guarantee you the offensive player will not know how the heck he blocked his shot.
. With ADP's height and long legs, it would be money for him.
yeah i know even if he knows this he still would have to have it in him to do it.

Im hoping coach finds a way to use ADP on defense effectively. I think the main problem is ADP really, really lacks any type of quickness. I think it really takes him some time to get from "I want to move this foot" to actually moving this foot.

BUT I agree that he needs to let the offensive guy by but trail and block from around the side or back in those situations. He is fine when he is posted up, it's just the drive from the top of the key that scares me.

Full agreement with this statement - I would have totally scuffed at the idea that he would have a minimal impact in games.

Has it been mentioned that Seton Hall's starting PG was a high school teammate of Shane Hammink?

Seton Hall has 3 guys from Canarias on their team, though it's tough to know if they all played together there. But Hammink and Mayaan are both Freshmen, so it's a pretty good bet they did.

ETA: 4 guys from Canarias. A Frosh, soph, and 2 jrs.

I had no idea. That's pretty neat. I think Hammink starts because they have length that he will need to be guarding. Hope he plays extra hard against some old teammates.

Yeah, and all 5 guys from Canarias are from different countries. Israel, Czech Rep, Netherlands, Latvia, and UK.

If the Canarias connection isn't at least acknowledged on the broadcast tonight, ESPN research dept isn't doing their jobs. This is a tailor made nugget for the guys calling the game.

I think you are right and Ludwig still starts and Del Pierro gets 10 to 15 minutes playing time. Unless Eddie does a whole lot better than last time he will be replaced after four minutes by Coleman.

If JOB gets in early foul trouble, Del Pierro's minutes could got up. Still don't know what Courtney's injury problems are but if he is healthy he could see five to ten minutes also.

Yea Im not sure on Courtney either... He played the last 3 minutes of our last game, so I guess coach just doesnt have confidence in him at all... IDK what the deal is. He was relatively productive last year in his limited minutes.

Jones made a comment about some guys having trouble translating things from practice to the games. It was meant as praise for ADP because he said he doesn't have that issue. But I'm wondering if it wasn't also a comment on Ludwig and Courtney having trouble adjusting to the new system.

courtney's biggest problem since he got on campus has been his health. knee injuries. would be nice to be able to rely on he and eddie just a little more.
