That might have been the most effort I’ve seen baker put into a defensive possession

Southland conf teams don’t come into the Deaf Dome and just push Baker around. Everyone else? Well, they do

Reed was in his warmups on the bench. Didn’t look available. Did not see Ward at all

I looked for ward , he wasn’t on the bench . The announcers mentioned who was hurt or sick but did not mention Ward ??

Unless he was ill and asked to stay away for his and the team’s sake, that is a bit concerning. I was a bit surprised he chose to come back to LSU. Given some of his preseason performances I thought he would be a really big part of this team. Unfortunately, he isn’t and appears to one of the many players who have not improved under McMahon here. Really, the only guy who has been noticeably better at LSU under McMahon is Fountain.

If (big IF) his absence means he’s decided to check out then that means 75% of McMahon’s first (and best) HS recruiting class would be gone after just 1.5 seasons. A tough blow for the “it will take multiple years to rebuild” crowd. Hard to “rebuild” when the majority of your recruits don’t stay longer that 1.5 seasons.

Again, that’s all speculation. But given the state of the program any unexplained absence is concerning

Yea nothing about Ward’s effort this year would scream wanting to quit and it certainly wouldn’t help him land somewhere else. Just going to assume illness for him and Reed and Mwani are nursing some injuries.

Was good to see Collins and Trae back out there after missing the Lamar game

Beating the second-worst team in Division I by 41 points certainly DOES matter, but... will this effort carry over into conference play? Tigers travel to A&M next Saturday night. Hope to see more of the same!
