My bad. It was ‘83 when we made the game in BR.

Didn’t some kicker from Baton Rouge win the game for Mississippi state in the last seconds?

That happened in 1982. LSU played very flat. Dana Moore from Belaire BR kicked that field goal in the game that was played the week following our 20-10 victory over Alabama.

I was there, game was at State and Bond was not the QB. UF was put on probation and we went to the Sugar Bowl anyway.

MSU's starting quarterback (Don Smith) was injured - so they had to start backup Orlando Lundie (from Bogalusa). Lundie responded by rushing for 115 yards and passing for 157.

I was a freshman at LSU and went to the game. The kicker who beat us before that, Dana Moore, had a younger sister who was my classmate. I really liked her , she was a great girl, and she used to rag me at school about him beating LSU. Fast forward to 1984 and as I left the stadium after the loss, who did I run into again to rub it into my face again but her. Ugh.

Yep, we beat Bama in '82, but lost to the cowbell people and their wishbone/veer offense. We were never good at defending that type of offense in those days.

Okay. Missed it by one year. I remember the 84 game in Starkville. I was there. Was this the game where we missed the chip shot field goal at the end that would have won it for us? Cost us the game and the SEC championship.
