Alabama can say Auburn is their greatest rivalry. LSU can say Ole Miss or Florida. The bottom line is that LSU vs Bama is the best rivalry. Both teams use their bye week every year for this game. Why is that? Because this is the biggest, most important game most years., Saban knows LSU is the biggest game. The most difficult most years. LSU is ’Alabama’s biggest threat and Saban knows it. 2021 is going to be fun.

Funny. I love that movie. But what I say is true. Why would Alabama use their bye week against LSU every year. LSU is their biggest threat most years, Not every year, but almost every year. Saban knows it,

That's a ridiculous take. So much wrong. And terrible use of recency bias.

Perhaps you don't understand rivalry?

I don't know a Bama or Auburn fan IRL that would agree with you.

Ok. Maybe not the greatest rivalry, but the biggest, most important game since Saban became Alabama’s coach. No one can really argue with that. They use their bye every year against LSU. Why? Because LSU is their biggest threat, the team they are most worried about.

Nah. Probably the best sec match-up over the past decade. But not the greatest rivalry, is it even a rivalry these days? Let's win some more games vs Bama, then you can talk abt it

Recency bias? What does that even mean? Yea, Bear Bryant destroyed us and most everyone. But recently these fane have been very close, except for a couple years. Saban knows LSU is their most dangerous game most years, that’s why they use their bye week for this game every year

Auburn v Alabama is a bigger rivalry because it means so much to each team.
LSU doesn't have a true rival, so to many LSU fans, Alabama is their biggest rival.

Auburn is 32-46-1 against Alabama
Auburn is 5-10 v Saban at Alabama
they are 10-10 last 20 years

LSU is 25-53-5 against Bama
LSU is 4-11 v Saban
LSU is 9-12 in last 20 years against Bama

Yes it is very close, but I think Auburn has been slightly more competitive against Alabama than LSU has been against Alabama... Since Saban has been there, over the last 20 years, and all time.

The Iron Bowl is the regular season last game of the year, so it would not make since to put your Bye just before that game. Instead they play a Sunbelt team before Auburn. However, it does make sense to put their Bye before LSU, your next biggest challenge which occurs in the middle of the SEC season.

It’s a great game, but LSU hasn’t been competitive in that in a while, doesn’t have the back and forth runs that a rivalry usually has...Now 2019 with JB had it, but was an anomaly over the last decade. It’s the most important game fir LSU fans, one of the best atmospheres in all of the regular season games, anywhere, but it’s not the best rivalry until LSU starts winning 30-40 percent of the games and become competitive in it on a consistent basis...

It’s not just about which is more competitive even.
Anyone who thinks Bama LSU is bigger than Bama AU has never spent time in Alabama.

take solace that LSU doesn't have rivals.....we just have a list teams that desperately want to beat us.

Those teams are ranked as:

1. Tex AnM (8-2)
2. Alabama (they've done that)
3. Miss
4. Miss State
5. Auburn
6. Florida (yet uga and Fsu are first)

Alabama Auburn is way more hostile and intense than LSU Bama. You would have to live in Alabama to know. LSU Florida is more of a rivalry than LSU Bama which is a big game

LSU doesn't beat Bama enough for it to be a rivalry
