if voters try to apply an objective analysis to the question of 'who is #2', then Ok State has a shot. If they simply do the 'who cares, I think Bama is better', then bama will be in.

It's already started. Go to Tidefans.com. Meltdown is epic.

Would be meltdown from the entire in-laws side of the family!

Agree. Will be interesting.

It's them against the ESPN machine though..........because they aren't gonna get much love from them...........
OSU deserves the shot.
Bama is 2nd best team.
It depends on what the voter feels.

Palm and Edwards remind me of the folks in 2007 who said that LSU had no chance. Once again we found out tonight why they play the game. Go Cowboys!

as much as I would love to beat them on the field, the meltdown would be as good as it gets

Yeah, I don't get ESPN's pro-Bama campaign. They aren't just arguing that Bama deserves the shot over OSU but tha there isn't even an argument. It's just odd.
I'm very curious what happens.

Played the #1 pac 12 team (Oregon) and beat them.
Played the top team in the Big East(West Virginia), beat them.
Already played Bama and beat them. They had their chance.
Bring on the champion of the Big 12 and we will beat them too.
Oklahoma State deserves to be in the BSC National Championship game more than Bama does. Common voters, do the right thing.

lsumatt,
Thanks for this clear, concise, brief analysis!!
Question: do YOU have an opinion on why the ABC/ESPN announcers at OU-OSU and VT-Clemson, all of whom are aware of both outcomes, are still saying, essentially, that "OSU will be a solid #3 but cannot overtake Bama"??
I have my own opinions here, but curious what yours are!

I've been reading the Tide Fans forum, and I'd say they were worried because they've been doing the same math, but the gumps can't count....

Brent Musberger has even gone along with it. Of course, ABC is a sister station with ESPN. But why did ESPN decide to push the rematch and say there is no argument??
