I don't know. How much damage did Baton Rouge have for Katrina?

Baton Rouge lost power during Katrina. Some parts more than 24 hrs. I was a student there during the time. The amount of evacuees there made it difficult to travel around. Do you seriously not know this?

Power outages and gas stations were sold out day before.

I'm thinking the game will remain in Gainsville and will be moved to a later kickoff time, most likely in the evening.

I think political correctness will eventually enter the picture and the game - out of an abundance of caution - will be moved to Baton Rouge. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Has nothing to do with taking precautions when facing a hurricane.

Totally disagree. Back in "the old days", people were not as risk-averse as they are today. Even governmental agencies. Do you really think they'd have 400 dead in Cameron Parish if Hurricane Audrey came through today?

Just my opinion.

UF knew fully well the game would be cancelled. That was the plan.

how much money would UF lose in ticket refunds alone? $9-10 million? No way they want this cancelled.

It was going to be impossible, so rather than a likely loss to LSU and tepid response (ala USC) they would take their chances on a postponed game.

Even if the game is played in a 2 day window through Monday, the attendance will suffer greatly......granted that's a concession issue.

They were in a lose / lose situation.

There would be less deaths from hurricane Audrey today because there would be way more information about the storm in advance and way more access to information. It's smart to evacuate when there is a reasonable chance you are in harms way, not politically correct.

There is always the question of what is reasonable under the circumstances. When dealing with people's safety it is best to err on the side of caution.

The storm did not turn towards Gainesville last night, as it might have, Gainesville was in the cone. I am sure if Gainesville is spared and the game is played, Florida officials will feel vindicated. But the fact is, most times you drive home drunk you will make it home okay. Once in a while you wreck and kill someone. The outcome doesn't make your decision safe.

This one is not that complicated. Florida officials decided playing the game there and risking cancellation, or risking putting people at harm, was better than having the game moved to BR.

Is there such thing as game insurance? If so, they probably have that, which would cover the refunds
