Apparently a bunch of you dummies didn’t read the article

They had already decided on a Pete Maravich statue and it’s gonna be unveiled soon

Why would you want to honor people after they die? What’s the point of that? She deserves it.

As I have said on countless occasions, statues should be reserved only for those who have gone to The Great Beyond, irrespective of their athletic notoriety. Deal with it.

I guess you won't be at the revealing of the statue

Yep. Give her her flowers while she is here to smell them.

When is Joyce Walker’s going up?

Love Seimone but Joyce was amazing! The all-time leading scorer AND a Harlem Globetrotter!

What jackass came up with that rule and why can’t an exception be made for Pete MF Maravich?!?!

Doesn’t bother me PP has no statue. He has been rightfully honored with the PMAC.

Pete did not rep LSU after he left here. He was angry because LSU fired his dad. He made no secret of his disdain for LSU. Had he been able to leave early, he’d have been long gone after one year.

He needs no statue.

And to be honest, with all those scoring records and a team for three years barely above .500, had he played recently, the rant would be all over him for being a Ben Simmons.

Press Maravich made no secret that his main goal was to showcase Pete, even at the expense of winning. And Press Maravich was one of the greatest Xs and Os coaches in basketball history up until then. But that all went out the window with Pete.

When are they going to erect statues of the LSU scientists that confirmed Eisteins theory of relativity by proving the existence of gravitational waves?

People who downvote this are prolly not even graduates and just just bandwagoners anyway. But I know I’m proud of the university and what CKM has brought to it in terms of positive energy. A 3x Olympian and they have the nerve to downvote. Good lawd get a life.

That used to be the law in LA, since the politicians that named things after themselves often went to prison.

Who’s to say he wouldn’t have gotten one later in life? He did die quite young.

Makes no sense. No Nattys in Basketball, Men or Women but multiple statues?

I’ve never been a big supporter for building statues, but for the sake of all that’s holy, if you’re determined to do it, do it right. Vet these artists, and pay them the money it takes to create a quality statue. Too many of these things turn out to be laughably bad.

Why exactly? I looked her up on Wiki and other than play for the WNBA and some championships she hasn’t seemed to do anything more statue worthy than other players.

Can someone explain why she’s getting a statue over other deserving players?

Woke statue.
All the athlete statues are dumb. They are just people, not saints.
