I guess all students who tailgate will get a free pass since their tuition went up already. How can students afford $40 a game to park with their tailgating supplies right next to them on the parade grounds.

Kirby-Smith fills up quick already. There wasn't enough parking on that side of campus even before they broke ground on the new band hall.

I also think this is an effort to get people to use mass transit to get to campus and reduce traffic....

I would agree if they had those set up to do so.
Last time I checked, my wife can't hop on a bus at 9am for a 6pm game to meet us out there.

Just a thought, attendance for games like ULM and McNese is already pretty bad. Do you think that this added cost will hurt attendance at those games even more considering you can buy tickets for cheaper than it will cost to park at these games?
eta: I guess it's a moot point to the University since the smaller games are sell outs on paper anyway, but the empty seats sure do look bad.

6 a.m. Sales begin at entrances on Gourrier Lane and River Road
So has one of these wingnuts thought about how to handle 5000 cars coming into the Levee lots an hour before the game. Traffic is already backed up past Brightside at 3 PM on big game days. I can also assume that in order to force people to park in the lots, they will start towing cars parked on River Road.

What about the logistics of buying the parking passes on game day? Cash only?
Highland Road is already a mess on game days. Can't you see traffic at a standstill because cars are backed up trying to get pass a "pay station".
Hopefully, LSU thinks this out a little, divides the new "pay parking area" into several zones, and allows the purchase of a season pass to said zones.

There will be less tailgating on campus. There is no doubt about it. People will move to other spots to avoid paying the money.
I don't think a lot of people are going to pay $40 per game in spots to walk 15 minutes to the stadium. Hell, I can pay $20 and park very close to the Superdome in New Orleans.
In addition, there were be a lot less cars on campus which means all of those cars will be parked on the perimeter of campus. That will really screw up traffic coming onto campus. If you don't believe me, ask anyone who tried to get on campus after noon for the Alabama game. It was so bad because they closed the roads at 8:00 am.

I will be damned if I will go broke going to football games, and don't give me any crap !! I am, was, hell just not sure where I am now, loyal lsu tiger fan for 35 years. BUT, I am sick and tired of gang bangers, non educated thugs getting way too much money.
