Good thing I already pay for parking or else I'd be mad also.
I think it's a good decision. All you cry babies sound just like government bottom feeders looking for free handouts and thinking everything on earth is a right.

Dandy Don suggested that LSU add $50 to each season ticket holders cost for tickets.
I'll be damned if I pay for a parking pass, tradition fund, season tickets AND subsidize those who don't have parking passes.
Sorry Dandy Don, but I want some of what you're smoking.

The only real issue here is the inconvenience associated with buying the parking pass on the street. LSU should just add the charge to my season ticket invoice and give me a sticker or mirror tag. LSU would get the money in advance, and they can benefit from the interest income. Heck, they can even add a convenience charge to make more money. I will gladly pay it. Some of us working folks are too busy to deal with getting in line to buy anything.
If I am going to pay.... I would rather have everyone pay a Flat fee and keep the parking arangements the same.... add the cost to face value of tickets... so that in the event someone wants to sell a ticket to the game they can at least not lose money in the deal!

You do realize parking "right next to the stadium" costs a LOT more than $50/per game already...try more like $ 100+/game

The bright side of this is that more people might carpool and there will be less traffic before and after the games.

People just arent going to show up!
Because we only expect 1/2 our usual crowd we will really be downsizing and only tailgate for 4 out of the 6 games next year.

Things like this parking charge may do more economic damage to the program then gain.

Just park off campus somewhere and walk if you don't want to pay the $40. I'm sure some of you fattys can use the exercise...

i think its ridiculous that people are contemplating giving up tickets because of this. just shows that half the people are going to see who has the best tailgate

agree, carpool, it will ease the traffic and keep less drunks off the road following the game...plus with all the budget cuts this is not a bad idea the way I see it...
Posted on 11/18/10 at 11:59 pm to ellishughtiger
Ease traffic? Are you retarded?
And no, this won't makeup for budget cuts, don't buy what LSU is saying, cause it's bullshite

I mean with less car's out there and people carpooling I don't think it will hurt it.
I have not read into the whole thing yet. Where are they saying the money is going?

Off Topic question:
Is Hart Lot a free parking lot on game days (this season)?

I don't think any lot charge this season, except the parking permit spots

But it is a reserved, guaranteed, spot. These $40 passes are not.

LSU is just so out of touch with its fanbase. If they would just talk to tailgaters and fans and get input in decisions things would go a lot smoother.

All the bitchers and whiners remind me of a woman. She'll raise hell to get something and then when she gets it, she doesn't want it anymore.
The majority of them are probably the ones who gripe about taxes and people "getting something for nothing", "I know better how to spend my money than the gov't does", etc.
Well they've got their tax cuts and tax breaks but now they've got to pick up the slack for something they want and it costs them more and they don't like it and as usual, it's somebody else's fault. And also as usual, it's the ones who can least afford it that are the most affected. Anybody on here who believes that this is going to bother or affect the ones who can most afford to pay the costs, please come see me about that beautiful oceanfront property in Az and NM I've got for sale.
The old adage, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!"
at he whole damn thing!
