Sorry, but if someone handed me 4 free tickets worth $280 minimum, I wouldn't bitch about having to pay for parking.

Here is where I see this failing the most. A lot of companies own season tickets that they give out to suppliers as a favor. My old company gave out four tickets every home gave to purchasing guys from the plants. But now that won't go over as easy. You are basically handing a guy a ticket that guarantees he's already $40 in just to go to the game. That's more of a problem than a favor.

Seriously? "thanks for the free tickets...but I have to pay for parking?"

No really...seriously? THIS is where the plan fails???

Not to mention the concessions! I mean, $5 for a Coke? Yeah, thanks a lot for these tickets worth about $200 bucks but this could cost me $10 in concessions and those damn lines for that disgusting bathroom! Oh wait, I have to pay to park! F that, take your free tickets and shove it.

I'm ok with paying $20 to park in the hay lot where I normally park for football.I mean it's only 8 games.

I hope they don't get the bright idea to do this for baseball.

I'm thinking this is Les Miles' way of getting back at the morons calling for him to be fired.

He's going to get a big raise this year and wants you peasants to feel some pain. He could have just taken the money and lived well, but that's not his style. He want's you to complain and whine while you continue to pour your 'hard earned' bucks into his velvet lined pockets.

look....man up and send BIG LES and his staff your money, or start supporting your local high school..

this is big time college football..if you don't have the nads, stand back..

For lesser games, yes!

I had 5 tickets for ULM and could even give them away. Many in my group had a pair to give away (friends gave the tickets to them to try and give away) and we couldnt find any takers.

tailgating was way down for ULM and next year for western kentucky tailgating may be at an all time low for the past decade.

not parking on campus next year.. I'll enjoy friend's apt complexes next season.

Unfortunately our efforts to protest this will go unnoticed as there are plenty of people who would pay 80 bucks.

You pay $20 to park in peoples' driveways as is over there.

not anymore…those people will def. charge more when they find out LSU is charging to park in grass lots.

Haven't read every page of this thread yet, but after reading the article, it seems to me that you are not guaranteed a spot if you buy the pass on friday night??? Is this the concensus of everyone else? If this is true, it's pretty shitty

I'm okay with them charging but those per game prices are excessive.

Agreed. $20 is outrageous. Just parked in the hayfield this past Sat and $20 is too much for that far of a walk. I have attended other sporting events and concerts in Houston and $20 gets you right next to the stadium. The far off lots are $10.

Its true for the trailers. I'd imagine if they sell out of $40 passes on Friday, they will not take drive up's.

That's how things seem to read on the announcement. I hope that there is some sonofabitch in the AD's office that has enough sense to rethink this and at least tweak it some. Right now, I foresee a major clusterfrick and myself residing in my recliner in my air conditioned den next fall. At least the concessions are cheaper and better quality.

I think they were talking about those who really can't afford them and wouldn't think twice about going unless they were provided to them for free.

In the grand scheme of things, its pretty irrelevant for this discussion but it certainly doesn't help when a company might give 4 of their tickets to some warehouse worker's family making $14/hr.

This is way down there on the list of things that the parking charges, though.

Please keep in mind LSU is out of touch with reality, tailgating logistics, its fanbase, etc...

These are the same people who think Toonces was the best logo change ever as it has sold so much over the past 6 years. They fail to keep in mind that its also the winningest period in LSU football and virtually the old logos have been phased out and pretty much forced to buy toonces. I'm not BSing here - they honestly do think the fans absolutely love the Toonces logo because it has sold so much.

lol…I don't doubt it mud. I HATE the toonces logo!!! Wouldn't it be smart for them to try to go back to the old logo now that LSU has been so successful (compared to the 90s) just to see if sales would go up??? this would be the only way they could tell which logo is better. This shows how much in right field they really are! I'm glad I am off on Fridays. I'm gonna pay the $40 bucks just to sit out there on my tailgate to watch the clusterfrick(ing) goin on
