Every professional sports franchise in America. Minor and major leagues. Trust me. They are doing it right.

Two things here: Number one is that you didn't give a comparable business model. These professional franchises have already established themselves, and you didn't present any data that says they established themselves by using this very tactic that we're discussing.

The second thing is that you just made a blanket statement by saying that all professional teams and leagues in America do this. You can't possibly know that for a fact, and gave me nothing to back it up.

Furthermore, I'm certain that they all INCLUDE multi-game packages. I think it's always smart business to offer that. But to limit the customer to that? I don't think very many franchises would do that, unless they are well established. Because when the demand is high, people will do what it takes to get seats. You don't have that kind of leverage as a fledgling program/franchise. Leverage is everything if you intend to bargain with people.

I've had season tickets ever since i graduated, It's $100 dollars for the cheapest package, $100....

If you were a real fan you would just buy the damn ticket, and not find a way to complain and bash LSU for seemingly no reason. Maybe you should join the Alabama fan base and call Finebaum, they love complainers over there.

Every school in the country sells some type of package deal for basketball. Why is this such a big deal at LSU?

People like you don't seem to know anything about the real world. You think being the greatest fan on earth means anything. I'm not here to impress you with how big of a fan I am. I couldn't possibly care less what you think of me or what kind of fan I am.

In the real world, many people don't have the time to go to more than a couple of games in a season. So why would they, or I, pay 100 dollars for season tickets, when I MIGHT see a couple games? Am I less of a fan because I have more important things to do?

Only someone who has zero else going on in their lives would say such a thing. So why do you think I'm not a "real" fan because I won't pay for a season's worth of games, when I don't have that kind of time? And why are you limiting your comment to just me? I'm talking about the casual fan who hasn't paid much attention to the program. You have to make them want to come.

But, by YOUR logic, those people aren't worth it, because they aren't "real" fans. Well guess what? The athletic department can't afford to think like you do. They have to take the bandwagon fans and try to make them stay. That's business.

I bought 2 season tickets for 200.00.
2 tickets for Auburn and Tennessee was going to be like 120.00 so it was a no brainer to just go ahead and buy the whole season.

I agree and regret not doing it. I have season tickets for Football and Baseball, so we already spend a lot on season tickets and there is no way we can make all of the games, but I've already spent more on individual game tix than I would have for the season. Lesson learned, and I can always give away the tickets that I don't use.

It's all the same SECN money.

And SEC basketball gets a much higher payout than SEC baseball. What's your point?

You're not paying attention to what I'm saying. Package deals are fine. I've now said this multiple times. It's LIMITING large portions of the venue to package deals. In other words, not giving people an option. That's what's not smart. Not when you are a program that doesn't currently have the leverage to make such demands. That is the only point I'm making.

it looks like the LSU ticket office is only selling the upper rows of the 300 level as single game purchases. Lower 300 level tickets can only be bought as part of the ticket packages

Are you sure about this? I just went to the LSU Tix website and could have purchased 2 single game tickets in the 200 level. In fact, there are numerous single game ticket available in the 300 levels

You don’t think those other places block off portions of their arena for package deal tickets?

I think that if they do, it's because they have the leverage to do so. In other words, they have had sustained success and the demand for tickets is at a point where it is advantageous to require package deals for portions of their venue.

No offense, but it appears this fight is unnecessary as you can go to the LSU sports website and buy a single game ticket for Saturday. The OP seems to have been mistaken in whatever he was trying to do.

There are plenty of tickets available for purchase to the Carolina game only. Most of the lower areas of the 300 level tickets are already sold and not being held back.

This is not the crowd a business caters to... Give me a business that can only sell to a person once yet caters to them like reoccurring customers?

LSU is not doing anything wrong. They need to make their money so people like you can watch a good product from their living room. If they get to you buy a ticket for a game for 30 or 40 bucks good on them.

I think he is just a troll... Or a negatiger trying to find anything to complain about in our extended period of smooth sailing.

He claims I don't know anything about the real world and have nothing going on, yet I have given away tickets to a handful of games this year when I had "important" things to do. That's because I'm a real fan who wants to go to games when I can, and shares that experience with others when I can't. I don't consider you a real fan because you are attacking LSU for literally no reason, and not because you don't have season tickets. And in case you aren't paying attention, no one on here agrees with you. Just shut up and go to the game or don't. Either way just shut up.

The ticket market for me is same with all 3 sports.
Im not going to most games.
So I pick and choose which when I want to go and buy off secondary market.

I’m sure many many people do the same.

College athletics have been around much longer than professional sports teams. I don't need to prove anything to you. I know I'm right.
