Coach O still hasn’t found his starters at linebacker, running back, kick returner and wide receivers. In 2019 it took several weeks for LSU to settle on Clyde, so that’s not really a worry.

The linebacker position is probably the most worrisome, that will be one to watch for vs UCLA who is a very dangerous team for an opener and for a LSU team still not settled on several positions. Should be a great game.

Between Clark, Jones, Baskerville, Small, Bugg, Sampah and White they probably just have a lot of depth.

He knows who the starters are but I’m sure he would love competition so why announce it a week in advance for a position that puts 3-4 on the field at a time?

What yourself? Coach O used various backs until he settled on Clyde several weeks later.

CEH 2019 game log

TDP 2019 game log

Emery 2019 game log

LSU offensive game log

Clyde got over 3 times the carries than the next RB. He was the starting RB from game one.

LSU used Clyde more but still featured several backs early on, that all changed as the season progressed when Clyde hardly left the field on offense.

Just wondering, how did that work out?

Still hard to believe LSU’s dream season, where everything magically came together. Could this year be another? Who knows.

The only game they featured a back outside of Clyde was Oklahoma.

The only game outside of Oklahoma that Clyde didn’t more than double the next closest carries was Georgia southern, the first game. He still had the most, still started the game, and was the starter for every single game. The team went into that year knowing CEH was the starter, it was only a toss up amongst fans.

If our DLine is as good as advertised then I think we see a major improvement at LB just based on that alone. That DL will be the engine that makes all of this go. With bad DLine play your LBs and secondary will struggle a hell of a lot more. Imagine a DLine consistently getting push, and QBs having to throw it up to Stingley and Ricks before they are ready too.

No idiot, it’s because we may not have continuity early on at linebacker based on the fact that so many different faces will playing. That’s the group UCLA is probably hoping it can confuse. LSU will eventually settle on a group of starters just hasn’t yet.

That’s silly logic. It took LSU several weeks to settle on Beckwith at LB. Does that mean THAT’s not a worry?

Having an elite Dline takes some pressure off our linebackers and secondary. Hope that we do.

Honestly I’m worried about offensive line more than any of the positions you named

On offense I’m more worried about Max scoring TD’s, based on how he’s practiced.
