I’m saying I don’t want to pay 1.2 million in buyouts, so hire a pitching coach and allow BT to manage the team. As far as assistants some things are better than they were. Do you want to pay 1.2 million in buyouts or give that money to Jay for baseball? I’m not saying Briski is great the SEC coaches voted her the best in the conference. Are you saying she isn’t good ?

Lance has been to 3 places since he left LSU, you think he is the same coach today than he was yrs ago? Come on man. You want to fire Beth ok that’s 500k for 2 yrs, then Neal’s contract would be 185k, now you need to hire another elite coach..that’s 750k for 5 yrs so the 1st 2 would be 1.25 million and then assistants would be 200k plus. If you tell me we gonna get Mike White, Tim Walton, Murphy I’m all for it but they ain’t coming so who do you want hired ? Name some names

So you think she should have hired a 22 yr old grad asst to be the pitching coach at LSU? And this was when Beth was going to 4 WS, you grasping for straws brother!! You have some good arguments about why don’t we have a Briski and development of pitchers but hiring a 22 yr old GA isn’t one of them

Well, she is the head coach. So…why would she not be responsible? She has been here over a decade. Do you think the program has gotten better? They have finished 8-9 in the conference the last several seasons. Meanwhile programs like State, Arkansas, A&M have greatly improved. I don’t understand why people are ok with spending all the money on her, the facilities, etc to be middle of the pack and make it to. super regional every 3 or 4 years.

The facilities are middle of the pack SEC facilities , her salary is middle of the pack of the SEC! Most ppl don’t keep up with the times in softball but ppl have caught up with funding and facilities. You mentioned Arkansas she has been at Arkansas 3 yrs less than Beth at LSU yet no WS, is that ok? If Beth didn’t make it to the WS in 11 yrs would that have been ok?

Well at least we agree on one thing, I do have some very good points.
The point remains the same, she doesn’t manage anything well. Do you think she doesn’t manage the team now? How’s that working out?
She should have let Howard manage offense while he was here… and not saying he was the second coming, just better than her. And, she should have never let the bump on the log Leftwitch manage anything, catchers, helping hitters, nothing.
And I’ll say it again, since she has become a mother Beth’s coaching style has changed and she’s way more family friendly with the girls instead of the hard agressive tyrant she once was.

Agree with all that 100% Allow Howard to coach 3rd and run the offense during games, Neal do the hitting and Sandra defense. As far as next yr, go get 3-4 portal players and a elite number 1..without that you cannot win ask OU

Well in four games in post season (three in regional) (one in super regional) Alabama has not given up a run; four straight shutouts. Not optimistic about LSU winning a game or even scoring, for that matter.

LSU is a top 16 program. That’s acceptable for most fans. We should host regionals and play in Supers most years. An occasional World Series trip is icing on the cake. If our facilities and $ investment are mid-tier in the SEC, we are right where we belong.

I agree, but we did have elite pitching for three years with Hoover and Walljasper, and still weren't able to get it done.
As another poster said, Beth is doing all she can, but is it good enough? If the athletic admins are satisfied with LSU being a middle of the pack SEC program that occasionally might overachieve, then by all means keep her. That said, even Moo State has surpassed us in softball now. Bama is good again, and we have two national softball powerhouses in Texas and OU in our conference. It's not going to get any easier for Beth going forward. She had her chances and blew them all. I don't see her taking us to the next level.

They're one win away from knocking off OU on the road. Moo State's been mentioned as a program on the rise. I didn't see LSU anywhere in that discussion. My point is that Beth has had both elite pitching and strong hitting at the same time and still came away with nothing.
