LSU had another great season of baseball and shouldn't feel bad about their lack of hitting in CWS - nobody hit UCLA at all. However, the writing is on the wall for future CWS contenders: learn to play small ball or go home early. Let's hope next time LSU gets to CWS they will be much better prepared to manufacture runs in order to win and produce more ground balls to make their opponents work for all their outs. It worked out well for UCLA. It was a good run in 2013.

at the risk of repeating a message...
and not to take away from their good pitching,
it is easier for a pitcher when the outfield can play in and nullify bloopers, line drives, etc.

The field favored "small ball" and UCLA was the "small ball" team....a great and unfair advantage was given to them.

They still won it....congratulations.

Post less. This season will be a distant memory soon. Win the championship or nobody cares.

I know that you are looking for everybody to agree with you, but, I don't. I don't "feel bad", but, I am disappointed.

The LSU baseball team should have found a way to hit UCLA's pitching. That's what Champions do.

And as for the idea that "it was a good run", my response is that every team with a winning record can say that. I agree that the LSU baseball team had a good run this season.

So in your estimation, LSU is nothing... why don't you go find another team to "root" for?

Never been a fan of excuses or rationalizations.

And there's never been a time in my life when I felt satisfied with a defeat, either personal or one of a vicarious nature.

No it's not. Every season we don't win a championship is failure. We were the most talented team in the field of 8 and we went 2 and Q. That's failure.

LSU is a school. This school has a bunch of kids who play sports against other kids attending other schools. LSU represents my home state, so, I like to see the kids from LSU win.

That's not nothing.

I am proud that LSU had a spectacular regular season..

I am disappointed that we could not muster some wins in Omaha.

Great regular season but ultimately this season will be forgotten because there is no Title attached to it.

Don't be satisfied with just making it to Omaha.

Still doesn't explain a team that was 6 in the nation (LSU)in fielding percentage and they produce 2-3 errors. Sucks to lose to a team that puts so little emphasis on baseball.

This. A program like LSU should not be satisfied with less than a championship.

So Duke and Michigan St. should feel like shite if they don't win the basketball Championship? It's a shame that actual humans think like Ricky Bobby's dad.

Right. The 18-22 year old kids on the team that busted their arse all season long to win the SEC Championship, win their Regional, win their Super Regional and make it to Omaha as one of the best 8 teams in the country shouldn't be satisfied at all with what they accomplished because they weren't the 1 team out of 300+ that won the CWS. Dumbass.

Yes and I'm sure they are. Every coach/player wants to win the championship and thats their goal the whole yr in any sport pro or college so i don't understand some of these fans that think just making it to Omaha and going 0-2 was such a great season or a success. The reg season doesn't mean shite when you get to the postseason. Being favored to win it all and being the most talented and playing the best at that time then losing 2 straight due to lackluster performances is a poor coaching job. His team was not mentally focused/prepared and it showed.

Am I ashamed of this team? frick no. I'm proud as hell try entertained the frick out of me all year. But I am not satisfied with how the season turned out either. I can guarantee that no one on that team is either.

Their goal was to win the CWS. Did they do that? Then they failed. No athlete likes failure. Some of you sound like State fans just happy to be there.
