Should LSU win Saturday, no one's body of work to date is REMOTELY CLOSE to LSU's. Sure, OK beat a nice Fl State team, but come one.

You play (3) ranked teams, none of which are at home, and you win them all (assuming we beat WV).

And the games are not even close?

I know his statement/current ranking means nothing, but it is aggravating to hear anybody saying anything other than LSU CLEARLY has the best body of work to date.

Same goes w/comparing LSU's defense to AL's. That's starting to rub me wrong as well. Shiite, look who each team has played, THEN tell me which defense has been more impressive.

Oregon seemed like a good start - I doubt they drop more than one more game this year

The only time #1 really matters is who wins the BCS National Championship Game....I'd rather stay at #2 and somewhat out of the limelight with a smaller target on our backs....

Oh so I guess defeating the #3 Oregon in the first week doesn't mean anything anymore, and nor does the win on the road against #25 Miss. St. Or the fact that after this weekend, we will have our third win over ranked opponents in four weeks. And Oklahoma beats one, in my opinion, overrated FSU team and that warrants them solidifying their #1 ranking.

To Robert Smith...

We just need to keep Whipping A** and the rest will take care of itself. The rest is all BullSh** anyway. The only poll that matters is the last one. Les will have them ready and the best team will win!!!

Who cares? At this point we control our own destiny. We win we go to the ship. Now if we drop a game thats when this gets more interesting.

LSU has beat the highest ranked team to lose a game this year. If that's not a "statement" win, beating the #3 ranked team at a neutral site, then nobody in the country has a "statement" win.

This guy goes out of his way to discredit LSU every chance he gets. I don't know what he has against us but he's awful to listen to.

NOT THIS!

Robert Smith has been one of the only backers of LSU went earlier in the year Herb and Craig James and the rest of the college football toolbag crew ragged on LSU saying we have no QB and shouldn't be ranked number 4.

If Oklahoma started #1, there is no reason they should drop from that spot until we beat Bama. Polls mean nothing now anyway so who cares? Ignore the AP. They don't count anymore. But if OU doesn't lose a game, they will stay #1 unless LSU or Bama go undefeated.

This is why there should be no preseason polls. The only basis you or Robert smith has for LSU not going to number 1 is because Oklahoma started there.

You have to look at the body of work when ranking. Which team has a better body of work? That's all you should go off of.

im pretty sure Robert Smith wakes up every morning, walks to his bathroom, slashes a little water on his face and stares into his mirror full of sticky notes that say "Hate on LSU today".....what a tremendous douche

I think any poll used by the BCS should not take place until after week 4. The AP of course would come out preseason.
