Should I have said LSU doesn't want an over abundance of Black people from north Baton Rouge bringing violence and crime to campus on that potential gameday instead?

The biggest criminals are the suit & tie wearing white men calling the shots for LSU and the state of Louisiana. They don't just a life, they take generations. Don't get distracted. They get wealthier off the stuff you complain about.

gnorant statement is ignorant. Southern football fans travel well, and are well-behaved. Ask USL, I mean ULL, what its like to host Southern for a football game. They've done it twice in the last six years and have drawn large, problem-free crowds. As for the Bayou Classic, Southern and Grambling actually have one of the friendliest rivalries you will see. The two fanbases get along very well.

Very correct...it's the New Orleans local hood rats that come out and mess stuff up.

Same thing happens for Mardi Gras and any other big time event in New Orleans.

Southern fans maybe.

LSU fans prefer the thrill of actual good games, for the most part, and that is who the Football program should be geared towards.

What the hell are you smoking?

LSU played Sam Houston in 2014
something named Furman in 2013
Towson in 2012

PLease Take your racist-shades off.

Attendance wise Southern crushes many of the lower level rent-a-wins LSU has on their schedule every year.

They are very insecure low life individuals. Their opinions do not reflect the masses, I hope.

Not supporting either statement, but how is this different than saying areas of North Baton Rouge have bad crime?

I'm against the game primarily because of talent disparity. I think it would be interesting, but not really entertaining. That being said, we do play some very weak teams, SU wouldn't hurt us anymore than some of the other scrimmages that don't really count.

My point is the Students and fans that are there to support SU are not the ppl that cause trouble and commit crimes...it's the locals from New Orleans area that come out. Same thing happen during Mardi gras, Super bowls etc

The same can be said for the North BR area...it isn't the students or fans who spend money that cause trouble...it's the locals that live in that area.

LSU is located in South Baton Rouge...Why aren't LSU fans and students lumped into that area of crime but SU students get lumped into North BR area of crime? South side BR isn't a pleasant place. It's gotten a lot better but still bad.

I don't think they should. LSU should not play any FCS teams SWAC or any conference. We play Southern in other sports and things are fine. Keep it at that.

What the hell does this, singular isolated incident, have to do with this topic?

Trashy men punch women all the time. Them being there for SU football did not make him punch her...it had nothing to do with the event.

There's a whole lot of dumbass in this thread.

There won't be any incidents if the two teams were to play imo. LSU campus would be so secured on and around it. The last time Southern and LSU fans got together, it was a historical experience with no problems back after the 03-04 season. The championship parade downtown had 200,000+ people celebrating both teams without anything happening.

I don't think it would be interesting or memorable at all...the reason they quit playing Tulane was that the series got so uncompetitive that the stadium was largely empty....Southern would be even worse than that was...

The game was canceled because we didn't want to go play them at their place every other year any more.

I'm not saying we should play them every single year, nor am I suggesting we play them anywhere other than Tiger Stadium.

As a one off, it would be MUCH better attended and FAR more interesting than a typical Sam Houston State type game.

Understand the intent, and agree with what you mean. I don't follow Southern, but know plenty of people who do and they don't deserve to be lumped in with a criminal element. Point I was making is that to some extent your statement about New Orleans is the same as the statement about North Baton Rouge

I forgot how we had to share the parade with southern back in 04 so people wouldn't get butt hurt that we celebrated a national title and didn't celebrate some crappy swac championship
