No, but we would sit in their spot as the #6 seed.
Posted on 5/31/10 at 5:28 pm to Broham
Right, but we won't be the #6 seed.

wow.........the guys deserve it.
i just moved from l.a. after 30yrs. i love being back in louisiana and would never move back west.
there is "june gloom" which is an overcast that keeps the temp in the 70's and very little summer heat. not much direct sunlite, but wonderful beach weather. the guys are gonna love the glitz. they will tour hollywood blvd, beverly hills, santa monica. the montains are awesome. westwood is next to santa monica.
the tigahs have won cash and prizes.
AND, this will motivate them. THEY WILL WIN.
if they go to fullerton, the orange county beaches are great, they are next door to disneyland and the crystal cathedral.
there is also a great southern california lsu alumni association. they regularly have 2000 at their annual crawfish boil. there are 1000's more that will show up for the game.
i wish i was able to go. congratulations.
this is the BEST travel date!!! imho

but wouldn't we take the 6 seed spot and play the team in the 3 seed spot in Omaha?

UCLA's stadium looks like a high school field....

I started reading this thread at work just to see cadello and smoking fight haha
Then Maxipad and his merry band of OT idiots come talking shite like JustSmokin needed help, he didnt. He is a better poster than they are.
Just tired of the negative bullshite all the time.
LSU accomplished something great here after looking like their season was over.
I want to congradulate them and praise them for that.
This team could have packed it in before the Miss. State series, they didnt.
They played like champions and deserve the accolades they are getting.
Sorry the team didnt go 60-0 and win every game by shutout, but sometimes thats all that will make some of these people happy...
I wish LSU the best on their West Coast trip, if they are deserving they will make it to Omaha, if not theres always next year.

Jackie Robinson Stadium can host as many as 1,250 fans in stadium-style seats, installed prior to the 2006 season. It can also accommodate many more on grass slopes above each dugout and in the terrace area beyond center field. Each seat offers an excellent view of the symmetrical field.

Two weeks ago we were wondering if we would make the tournament, now some are bitching about where we are playing! Just play, just win.

Christ, the people who are bitching about UCLA's stadium probably have no plans to go to the game in the first place. Like I stated earlier, if LSU is a college world series team, they will make it to Omaha despite the size of the stadium or the opposition. Who cares what UCLA's ballpark looks like? I have no plans on making the trip out west and if I did, I would think that the appearance of the ballpark would be the least of my concerns. At this stage of the game it's all about winning and not what a ballpark looks like.

quote:Maybe if you put your brain in gear you would realize the capacity of the stadium is, to quote VP Biden, a BIG frickING DEAL!!! If I can't get through to UCLA tomorrow and get tickets I have to cancel my air and hotel reservations.

If you're not going anyway, but the frick out....

I don't have to butt the frick out of anything Russian. In case you didn't know it, the NCAA reviewed the ballparks and their choices were made on many factors besides appearance and atmosphere. How many years did you attend LSU? At least I can claim two degrees from LSU. Some of you guys claim that LSU has the best fans in college baseball. If you ever attended a game between two Pac 10 schools, then you realize that they have fans on earth that are just as passionate as LSU fans.

I seriously have an unused plane ticket from NC to LAX. Still waiting for the WAFB story to pan out!

Buy your tickets from UCI or Kent St allotments. Or, outside the stadium

quote:Whoa!!! You must be Super Fan!!!! How many baseball games do you go to each season? Why aren't you going to the regional if you're such a Super Fan???
At least I can claim two degrees from LSU.
quote:That's irrelevant to your earlier post. The complaint is not about their passion, but about their lack of a proper facility to host a regional. If they are such big supporters of their baseball program, they need to build a stadium larger than the average Div. II stadium.

You get on a message board and gripe about fans who want to go to the regional to support the Tigers but can't because they can't get tickets to the game and then you admit you're not going? Unbelievable!!!!
Posted on 5/31/10 at 8:31 pm to avondale88
they may have lots of passionate fans as you say but not many can watch in that splinter in your arse old stadium. Its a Jackie Robinson disgrace that few people will be able to attend including LSU fans.
