LSU retired numbers in football and basketball

Pretty sure Dorsey and Peterson are recent candidates to have their numbers retired although I think only Dorsey gets the honor out of those two. Anyone else in football?
I'm not sure if there are any recent basketball players but maybe some from a longer time ago?

Did Dorsey graduate? That's usually a requirement.

hmm... I think graduation is a requirement to go into the LSU Hall of Fame but not to get the number retired. I know Maravich didn't graduate but he's also the GOAT college scorer. I think Dorsey should get the honor after his NFL career. I think he won just about every award he could possibly win besides the Heisman

Jerry Stovall (Heisman runner up) & Dalton Hillard

I'd say from the modern era Kevin Faulk is the most deserving. Getting him to sign alone was a game changer for the program

They would need to do like V-Tech and retire jerseys not numbers and use them as a recruiting tool.

I can't think of any and obviously LSU has a small drawing pool, but has there ever bee a number that was retired after 2 all time greats wore it? do they just put both names up there?

Big Baby hurt his slim chances by wearing 2 different numbers.

This, this and this. It would be a tremendous oversight to retire any football number before bestowing the honor on Kevin Faulk.

Unlike many schools, LSU has set the bar really high for retired numbers. The ones so far in basketball and football are basically beyond argument.
The only ones I think that could possibly meet that standard are Stovall and Faulk in football, and Chris Jackson in basketball.

I know, it was poor attempt at sarcasm.
I for one would find it funny to see #0 hanging up in the rafters.

On another note are the numbers actually retired in football or is it just a ring of honor type thing?
No one has Cannon's 20 but Hatcher is currently wearing 37.

He wasn't here long enough.
The only way that would be remotely possible is if he turns into some legendary NBA player.
