Sorry - why don't you link your authority explaining why this is good policy. Someone is afraid of being sued. The litigant in these sorts of cases is usually the ACLU. Sorry, were you offended?

This is garbage! Censorship in any regard like this should not be tollerated. Use another picture, but to alter this based on offensive yet publishing it. LSU should have a law suit against them! Poor!

so would you rather LSU put themselves in a situation where they may have to defend this pic in court or just give a quick explanation of school policy to a Reveille reporter? seems like an easy choice to me. i guess a few less hyper-sensitive Christians on campus wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Let me see if I understand this.
LSU erased the crosses because they are afraid that someone that looks at the picture might think that the univrsity is sponsoring a religion?
Is that about it?

Good, I hate it when people try to market their religion on stuff that has nothing to do with religion.

My point is that it's stupid that LSU should even need to worry that it is risking a lawsuit unless it expunges the religious symbols. Yet, you call the objecting Christians (who had no intention of bringing a lawsuit) "hypersensitive" but not the ACLU?

exactly
quote:

“Those crosses were airbrushed out. ... We don’t want to convey any religious or political message,” said Associate Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Senior Associate Athletics Director Herb Vincent.

some people (mostly those that do sponsor the religion) are offended. go figure

...correct move by LSU . Good for them. Public university not here to publicize or imply support for christians or christian nut jobs .

They aren't censoring the students. LSU didn't airbrush them going into the stadium. They jsut wanted to sue the picture without showing a religious affiliation of a public university. I think there is somethign you agree to when you buy tickets that LSu has the rights to alter and use any photo of you.

both are hypersensitive, however, only one of those parties are represented here.
