It's a policy that LSU follows for everything religious and political. Nobody complained.

Exactly

A lot of people in this country have no clue as to how a public university cannot endorse one religion over another.

Couldn't God just make the cross magically re-appear in all the images?

The origins of separation of church and state was not to preclude someone from displaying a religious symbol anywhere at anytime. It is quite to opposite, it was founded on the basis that all religious symbols can be displayed without government intervention.

So LSU is admitting that they were wrong by not showing again. I would have more respect for them if they would man-up and say so. The cross is not the issue here.

The irony of it all is that our Admin by airbrushing out the crosses that were already present endorsed another religion.

There is no such thing as a politico-religious-philosophical-worldview neutral position. It does not exist.

Are you saying that airbrushing out the cross somehow endorsed Islam or some other religion?

Yes.

There is no critical difference between referring to something as "religion" or "philosophy" or "political system." They all express worldviews.

So when our Admin actively and specifically removes an already present Christian symbol they are actively and specifically making an anti-Christian statement, i.e., the Christian faith does not merit preeminence (which it espouses, e.g., Colossians 1:18).

I'm not suggesting LSU should be a distinctly Christian university or anything of the sort. What I'm pointing out is the fallacy of the Admin actions; that in trying to remain neutral they actually make a statement and take a religious position (because a neutral position in these matters does not exist). In this case, they made an anti-Christian statement.

The kids love Christ, and LSU football. And there is nothing wrong with them taking a stand for what they believe in. And like Cameron said, they did not approach the media. The media approached them. It is good to see a bunch of college students taking a stand for what they believe in, and either way, LSU should not have altered the photo.

Um, no. What is the statement they are making by choosing those Christian students in the first place?

By your logic if they ever choose not to use Christian fans clearly showcasing crosses on all promotional materials they are choosing not to use those pictures and therefore making a clear anti-Christian statement all the time.

Probably as insecure as you have to be to be bothered by its removal I assume.

Very very sad what has become and is becoming of our nation and schools. To LSU administrators responsible for this, shame on you.

And you would have seen the unaltered picture as an endorsement of religion?
