Watching Virginia Tech vs. Pitt tonight sure brings back some great memories from that crazy 2007 season! Who could forget Pitt shocking #2 West Virginia, 13–9, on the final weekend and helping open the door for LSU (two loss team) to get into the BCS National Championship Game!

I was at the Va Tech game and it was a good one!

Yep I was thinking about the same thing before kickoff.

I remember Keiland Williams hurdling over that VT guy.

Ryan perriloux could have it me in the WUD when he got in. He was slinging it even when Beamer threw in the towel.

Don’t forget Oklahoma beating Missouri, that had to happen also

Do we have any Pitt alums on here? Always wanted to ask why their university ever got away from that stone mustard helmet of the Dorsett and then Marino days. That color and those uniforms were freaking incredible.
ETA: I'll move this question to More Sports Board. Might get lucky with some background from a Pitt fan.

Yes indeed, Sooners upset them in the Big12 'ship!

I was a student at LSU at the time. After LSU won the SEC Championship in Atlanta, I went to the hotel bar, grabbed an armchair in front of the TV, and settled in.
A blonde MILF player mom who was wearing her son's #15 jersey came over, sat on my lap and flirted with me through the rest of the WV-Pitt game. Her husband and his buddy were sitting at the bar, apparently completely fine with it.
I'm about 80% sure this was heading to a cuck situation.
Then my brother called because he'd gotten himself into a situation leaving the game and needed help.

That was not an upset.
OU had already beaten them and was favored in the game despite Mizz being ranked #1 due to all of the chaos.
Everyone knew they were not really the better team.
The upset actually happened two weeks before when Crabtree and Tech knocked off #3 OU in an instant classic dropping OU below us.
Had that not happened OU plays OSU, not LSU.
Damn 07 was the shite!!!
ETA: This was from the 08 TT UT game but Crabtree still deserves our respect and thanks

That 07 Va Tech crowd was rocking
We sat next to a couple from Va Tech and his jaw was on the floor after we scored first and I just looked at them and said, “sorry guys it’s gonna be a long night”
I also remember starting the day at Fred’s at 10am for gameday steaks. Not the best decision I’ve ever made

... and then the alarm clock went off! Sorry, had to say it.

Lol, true story though. Ruth, she was coaching cheerleaders or something in Tyler, TX at the time.

The Big East refs did all thru could to help VT, but in the end the Miles spell held.

I was 10 years old for that game and remember a Va Tech fan telling me "Y'all are going down tonight"
