They're meeting with Jimmy Sexton tonight. There would be a buy-out clause in his new AU contract and I'm not sure he'd want to actually work under Miles (like I said, it's a long shot), but LSU is going after him.

Bama's and aTm's of the world who have more $$$ to spend on recruiting.
Is this really an issue? Do we have a problem funding recruiting efforts?

Diamond Dallas page would be awesome though!

Duckie is in this thread. He can answer that better than me, but I think the short answer is "yes">

no, our program makes quite a bit more than a&m and is very close to what bama makes.
schools dont spend their endowment on sports, thats just silly to even think. we also dont subsidize any of our athletics.

I'm just sharing the info I was given. It comes from a very trusted and very reliable source. Same source that confirmed who LSU is meeting with this evening - and although it's a long shot - will blow the idea of Pendergast out of the water 100X over
Muschamp?
I'd rather have Pendergast.

no we don't. But it's hard to prove to the athletic department that we need more funding because we have so much talent in state and do so much more with so much less than everyone else.

Be like Christmas again if boom came back!!!!

apart from stealing from Auburn, I'm failing to see how Muschamp blows Pendergrast out of the water

it would, but I don't think it's happening. There's a lot of things that need to go right if that is their plan.

Didn't boom just sign with Auburn? Not a chance he comes back. Never heard of a coach sign with team X then turn around and sign with team y.

It just boggles my mind that the AD wouldn't spend whatever is asked. It's not like we have revenue issues.

it's been completely unnecessary in the past. Now, with more and more teams trying to recruit out of LA, it may start to become necessary.

i believe ellis johnson signed on with petrino at arkansas and then left a few weeks later to go to south carolina.
so it has happened before at the coordinator level.

I detest reactionary leadership.

Yeah, that's who he's talking about but I think there's a less than 1% chance
