The guys on sports today said that the guy called him the n word and then followed it with a punch. I'm also interested in seeing this video that they have seen
Would love to see this video. Always seemed like a decent kid, would hate to see his future NFL career and college education get thrown away because of some racist comment.

This comes off as Miles willingly allows this type of behavior. Perhaps one could argue that Miles is not enough of a hardass.
as evidenced by him immediately suspending Hill "indefinitely". He also suspended JJ for the same term, which ended up being 5-6 games (I don't remember) in an incident in which charges were dropped. He kicked off his best player who had up to that point never ran afoul of the law.
Yes, he is surely willingly allowing this behavior. That is what those long suspensions are -- an endorsement.

So the guy who waltzes up to a black athlete and calls him a n----- for no reason is the victim in all of this?
Weird society we must live in....

The comment wouldn't be the reason.... the punch would be.

Meh if the comment happened, he deserved to be punched.

It is really just the select few have to buy their friendships at lsu that suck.
Hey now, I would fit that stupid stereotype (buying friends) when I was in college

Maybe Jeremy decided to do some "side work" and lay some pipe for this guy's old lady

if the athlete then assaults him...yes.
last I checked the n-word isnt considered a "hate crime"

Well he shouldn't have punched him.
I think the point is I doubt he faces any criminal charges for retaliating. It's not like he randomly walked up to the "victim" and clotheslined him for no reason.

No offense.
It is really just meant for those who would have no friends otherwise and end up being huge dicks.
I am sure you knew plenty in your frat.

And they say a talent like Cecil Collins comes around once in a generation.

Hate crime is basically described bias-motivated violence, which can include assault.
He didn't just say it once. He said it twice.

This.
Yeah, the guy deserved to get knocked out for the comment, but doesn't make it right to do it. It is easier said than done, but he should have just walked away and then spread the word around about how racist that particular frat was so everyone on campus could hate them.

Now that you mention it. He was considered to be a major point in our preseason hype and ranking.
But not the best player lol. But the most important position. We all know Bama had trouble with pesky ole JJ.

Jeremy not being the bigger man and walking away. The guy was evidently looking for trouble and could have been easily ignored. People throw out racial slurs and hateful names everyday, it is still a crime to initiate contact. I'm not siding with the racist on this, but understand these ignorant folks do exist and it is best just go the other way when they attempt to rile someone up. I think we've all been in a few situations similar to Jeremy's , but we're not in the same spot light that he chose to be in. Unfortunately for JH he has to learn this lesson in front of the camera....
