It is an arms race in the SEC and around the country. You either pay up to compete or get left behind. I agree with paying up to compete. For the enjoyment it brings me, it is worth the price.

It is still free to watch it on TV. Supply and demand.

Maybe not in some places but the entire area from Forestry Drive to Highland was a ghost town last year compared to previous years.

eta: After actually reading the article this won't be too bad.

Like people have any other choice but to adjust to it.

Is there really a difference? If you pay an extra $40 per game to attend is there any difference vs paying an extra 20 per ticket for two?

The real pisser is these frickers taking the longtime LOT M Handicapped spots away from those that need them. This will effectively end my dads 60 year streak of attending games. Great job TAF

Same people that complain are the same folks that want a millions in facility improvements

This....but some people always feel they should get things for free because they have been there for -insert #- of years. An entitlement society even has some people who are LSU fans. Maybe we all should take up a collection and pay for those who are better than us and deserve to park cheaper!

i want a year to go by with some night games before i pass judgement on the dip in tailgating. but as far as our group goes, it took a bit of a hit but not so much that we didn't have a good time. the one positive is that people coming later could get a spot all the way up till 11 or noon and before that spots were gone by 8.

Why not go all the way with that stupid argument and say "Would you rather pay 500 to park and LSU wins every game for the next 10 years, or for the team to lose every game for the next 10 years?"

LSU football is not going to win and lose games based on parking income. But there are so many LSU fans blindly loyal to ATTEMPTS to bring in more money, it helps give LSU free reign to do whatever they please.

I know that unfortunately, this is the fault of the University's cutbacks. If Jindal would fund them properly like he promised for 3 straight elections (1 he lost, 2 he's won), we wouldn't be in this situation where the University side wouldn't be siphoning off every single dollar from the AD & forcing them to wring the season ticket holders dry of all available discretionary income spending...

This statement couldn't be further from the truth. Quite simply, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

That's an SEC rule, not an LSU rule.

The real reason for the increase is because TAF is trying to weed out the people who tailgate just for the fun of it. They aren't season ticket holders, nor do they attend the games because they don't even have a ticket. The cost of the trash collection has skyrocked since last year, and these fans leave one hell of a mess. After a game, the grounds at LSU look like hell, plus buildings near the stadium smell like piss. I live in Bama, but I belong to TAF. I knew this increase was coming a couple of months ago.
