Is Helms in the NFL?
Practice Squad. Which is good for him, he has to work make a NFL team in any type of way because he's such a small center. He was an underrated center for us. We got spoiled by a guy like Wilkerson but Helms despite being maybe 275-280 handled his own against guys much larger. Including Terrance Cody who he owned in 2008.
If we're talking about OL too then we can stake a claim for being one of the best, if not the best, University lately for producing quality OL for the NFL.

Fine i will post it here too.
Danny Mccray Was out of position almost his entire career at LSU. He is a natural safety. Not a cover corner!!! He is not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. Can we appreciate that he gave it his all for LSU and did what the coaches asked him to do even if it was not the best position for him. Lester Earl is right, he could possibly get drafted in the late rounds with these combine results.

You people crack me up. These kids are on full ride to play football and you act like they wouldn't qualify to be the water boys in scrub leagues with how you claim some of them are just awful. Yet I bet you couldn't touch and come anywhere close to the numbers they put out today. And if you can why the hell are you here and not out there with them? I mean McCray on Harvin, harvin did that to everyone so its a pretty crappy example. I agree he wasn't the best at covering and stuff but he still is a damn strong football player.

Man Woods' measurables are UNBELIEVABLE for a man his size...
Running a 5.00 with a 37" vertical at 6'4" 300#s is freakish IMO!
He made himself some $$ with his workouts...

Realized it was false hope.
Im not sayin I could do what he cant, just sayin after observing for 4 years, he is not League material. He is on Full Ride because of his measurables. They got him this far. Gotta have more than that to move on. What part of that dont you people get?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see a 3-4 team scoop up Woods in the 2nd or 3rd round, despite never really getting much P.T. here.

What are you talkin about, we can't come close to starting for LSU so that means Danny McCray = NFL SUPERSTAR!!!!!

I think Woods did improve his stock and will be drafted. I think he was in the wrong system. Its a case by case basis. In his case he has a future in the league. 3-4 defense fits him to a T. His measurables are taken into account more due to lack of game footage and PT.

What is all this talk about Danny Mccray being a bad safety? When the hell did he ever play the safety position?

is it? why??
why are people laughing saying McCray might get drafted late but think Al Woods can be a 2nd or 3rd round pick??? Al Woods had a worse career at LSU than McCray did.
you dont realize how contradictory that you are being.
Al Woods played on skates and was routinely pushed backwards year after year.
WIth that being said, he will be drafted because of his body type and his workouts.
yet people laugh when they say McCray may do the same.
as far as playing in a 3-4, he is going to have to play DE in that defense. He isnt an anchor-type, so he wont be great in the middle

he's a 4 year letterman who has played a lot of football. He just doesnt have a highlight reel cause he never made plays.

At least the past two years, if not prior. He got used (and used is the operative word) at nickel back off and on. This was where most of the disasters we all remember took place.
Posted on 3/15/10 at 3:15 pm to Lester Earl
See people when they think about Danny Mccray all they remember was how he got burnt all the time. Truth is its way exaggerated yes he was burnt a few times but people make it seem like it was every play. Secondly he was out of position and was asked to cover guys he had no business covering. If you take Glenn Dorsey and move him to linebacker pretty sure he would not have gotten drafted. Thats just one example. Sh*t take John Lynch and turn him into a cover corner. The point is he would be a horrible cover corner but he was an all pro safety.

Not to change the subject, but does anyone have any idea why TH did not run the 40??? Someone is steering him wrong if he could better his time from the combine. Surely this surface is faster.
