Is it just me or does is seen like the majority of lsu players under perform at the comibine?and if so, why? Isn't Moffit supposed to be one of the best strength coaches? To me it seems they all run slower than average and don't do anything special on bench, etc... That being said I think PP will destroy all events

Moffitt's job is to help LSU win football games. It is not his job to create impressive combine numbers.

Moffit's job is to have our guys ready to win games, not test well. You would assume the two go hand-in-hand, but it does not always happen that way due to a number of different variables.

Ali Highsmith had a pretty bad combine, but he was also an All-American in his last year at LSU.

The combine is more about the trainers they go to after they leave college for 6 weeks.

for some events, like the 40 and 3-cone? sure

refining a little of your broad jump will help too

but things like lifting, vertical, etc have minimal impact

Moffit didn't go with Saban....he is God to rantards. Shut your mouth or you might get banned.

If I'm making a workout program for someone depending on wanting them to be a good football player or wanting them to be a good bench presser it's going to be very different.

Alabama's players are performing just like ours. It's a Moffitt/Cochran thing and their college philosophy.

I wish some of you would quit questioning TM. He is one of the best in the business and LSU is lucky to have him.

OMG!!!
The world is ending!!
LSU won't have any players drafted.
LSU will never have any ex-players in the NFL.
We are DOOOOOMED.

Does Cochran follow the Bama guys to the combine so he can jump up and down and holler during their feats of strength?

Combine #'s are a small part of the evaluation.

this would seem to be the common sentiment even in the absence of any possible data.

I submit there is no way to know how good Moffit is. I also submit that there is no proprietary knowledge about weight training in LSU's weight room.

Nor is there a lot of proprietary knowlege in football coaching circles. Maybe it is the application of this knowledge that makes a difference?

Are you sure your expectations for the LSU players aren't set too high?
