Not defending the stat but how are they dead last when there are 128 teams? You listed like 5 option teams. Not 34.

94th or worse. 94th place was the BEST offensive year in the timeframe parameters

My only point is that triple option teams rely on deception and catch defenses by surprise with the pass. Naturally, their passing yards rival ours because of those sneaky option drop backs that catch the safety's cheating up to defend the pitch guy. We have to get our passing yards in a more traditional way which is very difficult especially with the flood.

Might you be missing the point? They are basically dead last of "normal" offenses in all of NCAA football. Imagine how amazing our backs are/have been & then imagine how much better they would be if there was some semblance of a passing threat to keep the D honest

That is true, but my point is this has been a top 10 to 15 program over that period. so overall not a lot of room to move up. LSU has a wider gap between run and pass effectiveness than most but it is difficult to be say top 25 to 30 in both and be more consistent.

It would e great to get the passing game to 2005-2007 levels. It has been a factor in keeping them from top 4 to 5 rankings along with NFL attrition, the issues with Perriloux and Tyrann Mathieu, and obvvious good fortune smiling on Alabama .

Right that's why I asked for their average.

Didn't crunch the exact numbers...I'm no masochist. LSU being in that company with all these blue chip receivers is depressing enough- you're on the net...have at it!

Its simple math. When you recruit qb's that don't fit your offense , you refuse to change your offense to fit their strengths , can't develop a qb to save your life , and refuse to make a change at qb or play calling. It adds up to a piss poor passing offense

2017 will be the year. BH is falling right in line with LM's 5 year QBs plan. Everything will change next year!!! I can't help but weap in awe of Miles' coaching ingenuity
I just got a killer deal on several barrels of snake oil. You want to go in halfsies?

This was mostly because of our defense. Our offense has been horrible for most of the Miles era. If we had a semi-competent passing game, we'd likely have at least one more championship instead of a top 15 finish, which is just not good enough considering the talent we have in the state of Louisiana.

How would one find the stats from Les' college days at Michigan? I'd like to see how they stack up vs what we do today.

Never mind....it's on Wikipedia. About what I thought. 125 pass attempts in one year. Probably same plays we ran Saturday

This is what I've been saying all along.

In Les' days at Michigan with Bo, when a Wolverine QB went 4-10 for 38 yds, a TD and an int., that was considered good QB play.

Which is why Les can't recognize POOR QB play to save his arse.

How the hell do we even get these talented WR's here?

It's more like why? All it does it pad the recruiting rankings and then only 2 will see the field at a time. We sign 3 or 4 per class when we only really need 1. Wasted scholarships. Another way Les holds on to his job through perception over reality.
