ARLINGTON, Texas -- The 12th-ranked LSU football team (1-0) rolled for 448 yards of total offense and overcame a few of its own mistakes to beat No. 20 TCU, 37-27, and remain perfect in three trips to Arlington.

LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger finished 16-of-32 passing for 251 yards with a game-icing touchdown pass to Jarvis Landry with 6:09 remaining in the season-opening Cowboys Classic. Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. both had more than 100 yards receiving, a feat LSU hadn't seen since 2001.

If it weren't for busted coverage on the kickoff for a touchdown and Blue fumble on our own 6-7 yard line, this game would have been very one sided. Additionally, a couple of those field goals could very easily have been touchdowns had the receivers held on a couple of times. I realize this is all part of the game, but these are correctable problems. If we spend the next three games correcting these things and opening up the offense a bit more, I think we have tremendous potential this year!

Congratulations on an incredibly strong performance and a convincing win. Mett was on fire, your WR and Defense are stout. Good luck in the SEC this year.

This.... and TCU never quit playing. Tells you a lot about a team.

Miles has got to get somebody in here that can teach the talented WR's how to consistently catch a football. The drops are going to bite us in the arse in a big game.
