Congratulations on an incredibly strong performance and a convincing win. Mett was on fire, your WR and Defense are stout. Good luck in the SEC this year.

Great thread.
It would be even better if the LSU football team feels the same way about TCU.

We should post this thread in the TCU locker room so they know they're totally screwed.

even though we lost, the hype video before the bama game last year was awesome

I'm ok with a repeat. Works for me.

Hey Frogman, I'll admit that I didn't read or hear GP's full comments so why don't you enlighten all of us because all we know is that a couple months ago GP stated that Fields was to be suspended and now all of a sudden it's a game time decision?

If I were a LSU fan first and foremost, I would be flat out embarrassed that Hill was on my team. It makes it that much harder to cheer for LSU when you're not playing TCU.

Wow. Just Wow.
Did anyone read or hear Coach Patterson's full comments?
You will not meet a more honorable coach than Gary Patterson and that's just the way it is.
And for what it's worth, Fields and Hill are no where near comparable.

At least show a TCU picture worthy of LSU fans...

Come on man. Give Coach Miles a break.

Miles showing his hand. Patterson not showing his hand, but if his prize player takes the field, he'll being showing he's an #ss.
Might want to check your source again...

Correction: What Les said about Jeremy Hill was he would NOT be surprised if he made the trip. So he is exp to make trip. I misunderstood.
Looks like you're the #ss...
I watched Coach Miles interview. It was a 50/50 tossup which way he said what he said.

GP answered a direct question and said that he would never put a player suspension up for a team vote.
exactly.
because "kids don't learn life lessons"
Listen to the audio. He's answering a question in the context of his team; admitting that his team would vote to have fields back.
When directly asked about Miles and Hill, he DIRECTLY STATES - Not his concern, he (Patterson) needs to play whoever LSU puts on the field.
Anyone that listens to that audio will completely understand that there was no trash talk from Patterson.

The only reason that this is an issue at all is because TCU's Coach made comments about Hill, which were turned into a national news story that portrayed LSU and Les Miles in a negative light, even though The game hasn't even been played, and Jeremy Hill hasn't even stepped foot on the field.
Why do you hold anonymous LSU fans on the Rant to a higher standard than Patterson?
I mean, if anyone gave the greenlight for speculation and moral grandstanding about whether a player was going to play or not based on an unclear suspension status, it was Gary Patterson.
Did you listen to the entire interview? I did.
Patterson did not say A SINGLE WORD about LSU, Miles, or Hill. Not one. He was answering a question about Devonte Fields. The link to the audio for the entire interview is below.

Can we whine a bit more about Coach Patterson?
Just a little more?
Please?
The game hasn't even been played, Devonte Fields hasn't even stepped foot on the field, and you're already calling Coach Patterson a hypocrite?

Shout out to Any LSU Fans Here
Posted by Frog Horn Fan on 8/22/13 at 8:30 pm
This is a big shout out to any LSU fans that might be hanging out here. TCU fans are excited to be playing LSU, although most would have preferred a home and home mix, to really experience tailgating and a game at Tiger Stadium.
In '95, TCU was kicked to the curb from the SWC, ran to the WAC, traded up for Conference USA, and was asked to join the Mountain West Conference. At each stop TCU won conference championships and bested teams like Clemson, Oklahoma at home, Boise State at home, and Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.
So TCU fans understand 40 years of losing seasons and tend to be thankful for our head coach who brought TCU back from irrelevance. Cannot say enough good things about Coach Patterson and his staff.
Hopefully the TCU fans you meet love football, have a humble attitude, and are great to hang out with at a tailgate. LSU is clearly an elite team and it's exciting to get a chance to play the Tigers, to see how the frogs measure up against the best.
Great coaching, a solid defensive scheme and an outstanding strength and conditioning program have helped TCU compete with two and three star athletes and finally land in the Big 12.
The 7-6 season last year was a disappointment for many, for wins and losses, but moreso for the drug issues that tarnished TCU's reputation. Most fans believe Coach Patterson did the right thing by kicking off every player that sold drugs and suspending Casey Pachal from the team for the season plus treatment, rather than just a one or two game suspension, after his DUI.
We were disappointed in Casey, but hopeful that he's turned things around and will be a poster child for grace and redemption. Doing the right thing is important to most TCU fans, so you probably won't find many TCU fans demanding that Fields play. The fans trust the coach to do the right thing, Fields getting it right trumps football.
We typically don't play well in early games, our offensive line did not hunt well together last year, many fans thought the offensive calls were horrible, but after losing our QB and best RB, any offensive plays were going to be a challenge.
We've lost several players recently, one transferred to another school, a DB quit, and we lost on offensive linesman due to injury. Last year we played youngest in the nation; we're hopeful some of that playing time will pay off this year, with OL and DB most questionable.
The year before we had 15 players in summer conditioning, according to the coach, just about the entire team put in the time this summer. Obviously, there's alot of respect for LSU by TCU coaches, players and fans.
Because of strength and conditioning, TCU players may surprise many here for endurance. Unfortunately, playing in heat is no advantage against LSU. TCU recruits speed and athleticism, and has a 5 star RB, actually several really good RB, but team speed is probably not at LSU's level.
It will be interesting to see TCU's gameplan against a much superior, elite team like LSU and whether TCU's S&C will hold up during the game.
Given a clean, hard-fought game, I will be cheering on LSU every game this season. Except on August 31. Good luck and may the best team win.

How are those club seats treating you?
I remember you mentioning the seats on Rivals.

So far I've seen predictions of 250 yards rushing and 500 total yards for TCU's offense.
No sane TCU fan, coach or player is predicting 250 yards rushing and 500 yards total from the TCU offense. Not sure where you're getting that from.
