I played a good bit of OL and was recruited for it out of high school. I have seen a lot of OL and for one there is PLENTY of tape out there on him. No shortage of it. I've seen plenty on him to know the guy could easily start from day 1 at RT in the SEC. You act like it's impossible for a guy to play as a freshman on the OL. Tennessee did it this year with a talented guy and A&M especially did it this year with a freshman at LT even.

Im not saying start him at LT, since dealing with the best pass rushers in general wouldnt be the best idea, but he could handle RT. He's big, very athletic and can do it all. You can't tell me Hurst, Washington, Shaw etc...would play much better than him next year. The guy will come in a college ready 6'5 about 300.

Once again I said there's EXCEPTIONS which you failed to acknowledge for size on OL, but in general we have had the most success with a big dominating OL here at LSU. Centers usually are smaller, but guards should be big guys. We all miss the days of a healthy Ciron Black and Herman Johnson side by side. We ran left and ran left a ton behind those guys with success. Now we have to deal with a pass blocking softy (in run game) in Barksdale and an undersized Dworacyzk. All I'm saying is we need to get bigger and meaner on the OL.

Thunder, he is 285-290......doesn't that kind of hurt your arguement? Rhetorical smartass question.

OL Rodney Hudson 6-2 282 Sr. Florida St.
C Chase Beeler 6-3 285 Sr. Stanford

That's 2 of 5 Coaches All Americans.....athletic 290lb guys are far more beneficial than 325lb space eaters. I have seen far too many clumbsy giants recently to base success on gravity......but, I do agree on aggressiveness. Will Blackwell does help with this.

I recognize that other programs have done it, BUT we have experience.....he will not trump them. What I saw first hand was not ready to start in the SEC on day 1 (even considering off season build-up to August).

We will agree to disagree.

Look at the size of the O-linemen we have coming in next year...

6'7 305
6'5 285
6'5 340
6'5 280

Beastly, hope they all pan out.

6'7 305
6'5 285
6'5 340....this will be a weight-mgmt issue
6'5 280

keep in mind that some of these heights are likely 1-2" taller than reality......

Yes, the rushing stats are better than 2009, but I think it is that it's because we had an upgrade in the backfield.

I dont consider Steven Ridley to be an upgrade over Charles Scott and Keiland Williams. Keiland Williams made an NFL roster this year and has already seen a lot of playing time and has played well for the Redskins and has even started because of injuries. Unfortunately, his talent was wasted while at LSU. I guess Les didnt like him or something. All those people who were saying he wasn't an SEC caliber back look dumb now, because he's seeing more playing time on an NFL team than he ever saw while at LSU.

It doesnt help that LSU uses that weak arse zone blocking scheme either. I hate it.
