I can't remember an LSU offense that is so painful to watch. It kind of reminds me of going to the dentist and having teeth pulled. JJ is so out of sync and has progressively gotten worse since his freshman year in the chic filet bowl.Something has got to be done different, new play caller, with a new qb, more wildcat or some imagination to possibly fool the defense?????It used to be so much fun to watch but now it is awful........... :wah: :wah:

I wonder why CBS picked up the LSU/TN game because of this very issue. I know we are ranked but TN is struggling this year.

Assuming we continue the rest of the season with this same inept offense, Crowton needs to be relieved of his duties after this season is over. Miles needs to give the keys over to someone new and fresh.

Because we are No. 10 and have an amazing defense and Heisman candidate...

The offense has been pathetic for 2 years. That is why I am in the FREE LEE camp. '08 was at least a fun team to watch, picks and all. We moved the ball. Hopefully the picks won't be as numerous and we can still throw for 200+ a game. 75 yards is ridiculous unless you play in a league that gets ice cream after the game.

The bottom line with JJ is he DOES NOT make those around him better. If JL isn't the answer (and I've never said he was, only that he deserves a chance), then put Ware, Shep, or Randle in there. If we're gonna run the option, then, by God, let's be an option team. Bring back the wishbone and dare someone to stop us. Continuing to put the same tired old crap on the field week after week is frustrating.

i've never seen so many people yawning in the stadium. Curley Hallman had a more effective and entertaining offense than this bullshite. LSU football is not fun anymore.

LSU Football 2010:

Great Defense
Excellent Special Teams (if not the tops in nation)
Decent Running Game

That is what LSU is right now. Good enough for 4-0 and should easily get to 5-0. Who knows from there.

Think Hanagriff is spot on....he says that the wizard behind the curtain that has Crowton shackled in a box with his playcalling is Miles. He gives very narrow parameters for playcalling and that's all that Crowton can call. In 2007 his playcalling was quite good when he had a high IQ QB(Gordy Rush's words) to execute the plays.

I remember pleading for Saban to at least TRY Rick Clausen in 2002 since it was so painful to watch Marcus Randall try to QB the team. Then they finally put Clausen out there and I went, "oh now I see why he's been on the bench."

But this also made me realize just how desperate a coach can get when he doesn't have a good qb on his squad. Saban and Fisher of course knew that Clausen wasn't the answer since they got to seem him at practice and in the spring. Two well respected coaches, Nick and Jimbo, and even they fell into the well of desperation and tried something they knew in thier hearts wasn't going to help.

This is a tough deal the offense is going through right now, and I'm not sure there is an answer that will work. But I sure hope they luck into one cuz this is one team that it would be a shame to waste a mediocre season on.

with the QBs on the roster, you have to admit....I wouldn't exactly be calling wide open plays either.

Unfortunately we are at that point in the season where there will be no drastic change on offense unless JJ starts turning the ball over more. We are going to run JJ on sneaks and options, pass the ball very few times and very little yardage, and pound the ball.

Crowton has managed to take strength of the offense (WRs) and make it completely useless. Why some people still defend this man is beyond me. He is the reason LSU is not a top 5 team this year, and if we don't win the SEC...it will be because of Crowton. Because this team is good enough to win the SEC even with just a mediocre offense.

Does Hanagriff suggest that Miles followed Crowton to Oregon as well...cause his pattern is EXACTLY as it was with them.

Crowton is out of touch with the game.

His cutting edge offense back from the 90s has not changed. D coordinators can take a night off.

If his QB is unable to complete passes, hell even have the passes REACH, to the receivers down the field...thats not really his fault.
