The game has changed BIG time. It's a shooter's game and the 3 point shot is the BOMB. The impressive part is when great shooters miss it's not by much and the ball can go anywhere - that's one reason Michigan State was able to get so many offensive rebounds on LSU. Ticket to competing for championships is to get "dominant" outside shooters. More than likely in the Final Four matchups the team that can make the most 3 pointers will win their game. I would have been a major recruit in today's college basketball game (Dr. D humor....). LOL

it seems like every team hits at 50% from the arc once you reach sweet 16

Waters and Skylar can hit just as good as the big time shooters we've seen thus weekend.

They had an interim coach vs Tom fricking Izzo in the sweet 16.

At mid season we were knocking the shite out of 3s. It went away and didnt come back. If we hit 3s like we did then, we would still be playing.

Hyatt is supposed to be a good shooter. I think they were hoping Taylor would have been a little better from 3.

With the exception of Tremont and Marlon, most of our guys shoot a "set shot" from behind the 3-point line (versus a jump shot). Shooting a set shot requires more space due to the lower launch angle, and it takes longer to release because you have to get "set" first. Hate to point out the enemy, but refer to Tyler Herro as the prototype 3-point shooter.

Skyler was around 25% from 3 in SEC play. I think even under. Waters shot somewhere around 32% from 3 on the year, I believe.

I love them both as players but your statement is blatantly false.

So true. It's the great equalizer. Any team can get hot and have a shot at any team out there. The long shot that doesn't fall usually bounces well away from the rim and many times recovered by the player being blocked out. LSU needs a consistent outside game. It won several games for the Tigers this year but faded away.
