I find the hypocrisy here amazing. Some of the same guys that hammer Les and want him gone make all kinds of excuses for Hawthorne. Namely he bleeds purple and gold, he is a nice guy, he has been here forever and deserves to leave on his terms!

Ha why is Jim not judged objectively on his performance. If he had a W-L record as an announcer like Miles has as a coach he would have been run out of town years ago. Why do LSU fans put up with mediocrity in an announcer but not a football coach. Shouldnt the voice of the Tigers be a talented knowledgeable professional not a has been clueless hack? Do you not realize he represents LSU to many listening on the radio?
In my opinion he is the broadcasting version of Curley Hallman!!!!

Jim is a great football announcer because of his enthusiasm and a good basketball announcer because it is so quickly paced, but in baseball, where there is a lot of down time, I would much rather a former All-American announce and give his insight than Hawthorne trying to make conversation.

My Hawthorne fav... next to Jack Hunt (which has been cleaned by LSU-censorship)
Hawthorne's call:

There's a drive to deep center field. That's out of here...and it's hooking hooking... FOUL.

My buddy turns to me and says- what did he hit it with a 2 iron?

What kills me about Hawthorne is his constant reference to a pitch being "in the dirt" when most of the time it's only a low pitch.

You sound pretty much like an "old whiny bitch" yourself.

I agree x 10000.

Hannagriff + Coogan > Hawthorne + Hanagriff > Hawthorne + Ford

Can we get a flow chart on this before I make a decision?

One of the worst jock sniffers and LSU homers to ever exist on the planet, IMO, a total "company guy". He and Jordy should share bunk beds.
